I'd like to say your wrong..(but I may be wrong) as the op was asking for £4 plus postage.. in this case £4 plus first class recorded delivery totals £9.20

I did counter offer whishihadadonky's £7.50 with £8 but the offer wasn't accepted there is nothing in the rules to say this counter offer becomes the new price.. I have had a quick check of the rules and the only thing I think is kind of relevant in this case is:

(12) Once an offer has been made and accepted the trade should be considered final. Sellers who accept an offer and subsequently accept a higher offer from another member, may be suspended from trading. On the flip side, members who submit or accept an offer and subsequently pull out for any reason, will be suspended from trading for at LEAST one day

However the counter offer wasn't accepted so in this case I don't think accepting a higher offer is an issue. but I don't know

Once you've got back to someone with a counter-offer, this does become the new asking price.

Can one of you please quote where this is listed in the rues.. I know it's the case on other forums.

The price including first class recorded delivery was £9.20 (First class is £4.45 + 75p for recorded)

I just thought that was the case as I have bought/sold loads on here and thats the way its always been.... :?

Maybe we should ask a mod to clarify as I would like to know for future reference :)

Here you go, using another thread as an example :)

Cross posted.

New asking should be set at £4.50 as per offer to other member.

OP reserves the right to close listing if not happy to sell at that price.

so have i done something wrong?

I don't think there is anything wrong... but waiting on a mod to confirm.

it's all got confusing, as there is nothing in the rules about counter offers becoming the new price. - if this is the case it need to be made clear in the rules
#27
Well if it matters im happy with what i paid :/

Unfortunately you have offered the item for £8 delivered (including p&p costs) - once a price has been lowered it cannot be raised again even with amended postage costs, so no offers over £8 are allowed from that post.
(6) You MUST specify a legitimate asking price for every item in your listing, this includes items for trade only and is for comparison 'like for like' reasons. Sellers listed price CANNOT be altered once offers have been made. Items already listed must NOT be listed in ANY other active thread. This is NOT an auction site, bidding on items is strictly NOT allowed.

Offers were made & agreed at £8 delivered & so the list price cannot be raised after that. Thread closed.
