Hi mate. With regards to warranty i have no idea, i've had it for around a year and got it second hand so i would say it's out? It has no hdmi. and yes if you have good feedback i will happily post first.

if the manufacture date (can be found on the sticker on the back) is less than 3 years ago, you could probably get MS to fix this for free.

They will only do this for RROD (i.e. 4 lights)

I thought it was 3 red lights that were covered for the 3 year warrenty not 4, E74 error message is also covered for the 3 years now after they finally admitted that the E74 error is due to overheating as well.

I got my disk drive repaired for free by saying it was 3 red lights, always worth a punt.

4 flashing red lights means plug your video cable in properly! (Or there's a problem with your video cable or the output socket.)

RROD generally refers to 3 flashing red lights, which is the most common symptom of a fault as it means general hardware failure. No real harm in using the term to refer to any flashing red light fault, but Microsoft do only offer the extended 3 year warranty on faults that show 3 red lights or (now) E74.
