Looking to downgrade to something less powerfull but at least as quiet or passive. Ideally something along the lines of a 48xx or 5750 series or equivalent nvidia. Not really interested in 46xx series or any nv2xx series. WHYG?

My ASUS will come boxed with receipt and has another 2.5 years of warranty remaining.

Let me check a few benchmarks as I think it might not be powerfull enough for some games.

You got a receipt for it I assume?

It seems to be quite slower than both the 4850 and 5750 but should be able to handle light gaming. How much on top for my 5770 (providing you find the receipt)?

i thought it would handle light gaming but it done more then expected as i said if you have good ram/cpu its quite a nice card.

i have the receipt, how much were you after ontop? as both cards still sell between £80-£100 not looking at alot.

once agreed on a deal i will take pics of the card running my pc ( screenshot ) then pics of the card in my current machine.

Sounds a better option compared to the 240 gaming wise. How much on top?

You have to price your card.

£10-£20 ontop as i stated both cards in region of £100.

what games do you play out of interest?
#12
It seems you can get a new GDDR5 240 for £55 http://www.ebuyer.com/product/179471?utm_source=google&utm_medium=products so I don't think it makes sense to trade my 5770 for £20 on top.

All games I play are at 1080p resolution. The 5770 manages the older ones fine (Grid, Oblivion) so a 48xx or 5750 should be fine too.

You're right. However even the 1GB versions can be found for under £65

I want something silent so probably not the best option. There were some passive 4850's from Gigabyte so looking for something similar or a passive 5750.
The 240 seems to be at least 30-50% slower than the 5770 so probably will not be enough.

check reviews before you go ahead as 4850s do get warm!

They seem to be fine. In fact adding a fan did not make any difference,

Similar games wise
http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/176?vs=172
with the 5770 needing less power, beeing DX11 and supporting eyefinity so I guess the 5770 is better overall.

Cash adjustment from my side?

It's not a cash issue but more of a lack of performance for my needs.
