I have had the 60gb since december (as its a refurb). So its out of warranty but it work perfectly fine. It still has the plastic covering so there are no scratches or marks.

well considering you can get a 40gb ps3 for £170 then you'd have to give alot on top :-D

hmmmm, I have an 80gb ps3 thats 3 months old, With receipt from game. Its markless but has a Final Fantasy Skin already on.

Its in absolutely perfect condition fully working and has not had any problems.

Seeing as yours is a refurb it makes me a little apprehensive due to it having already had a fault. If i were to put cash how much would you think is appropriate seeing as mine does have 9mths warranty & is mint?

Well i guess about £50....i know its a refurb but like i said i have had 0 problems with it since i got...and also sony customer service are amazing. My previous 60gb ps3 was out of warranty when it packed up on me but sony still offered to replace it. At the end of the day it is upto you.

I'm just being as honest as possible. If i dont get what i want for it then i will just keep it

ok well asking me to give £50 ontop of an 80gb ps3 in warranty is a bit much. Especially considering that to keep warranty on that 60gb would need continuous play (9mths X £4.99). so your already getting nearly £50 of warranty on mine. So in respect ill end up paying around £300 for your 60gb. Which is only worth £240-£250.

Well i really will have to stick to my guns as fronting nearly £300 is not the going rate for a 60gb.

the reason i am thinking of trading my ps3 is not the because i want a bigger hard drive. its just that i dont use all the extra's the 60gb model offers. So i thought i'd see if anyone wants to trade in a 80gb ps3 and a bit more.

thanks for suggestion anyways!

ok no worries.....you'd be better of selling you 80gb ps3 and buying a 2nd hand ps3 from somewhere.

Confused by this trade, why do you want to downgrade for the sake of £40-50 quid. If its hard drive just buy a 320 gb for 50 quid?

Well let's get a better idea of prices

We can get the following by trading our PS3 at CEX.

http://www.cex.co.uk/products/gaming/console%20gaming/playstation3%20consoles/?mode=buy

PS3 40GB (boxed) £176

PS3 60GB (boxed) £228

PS3 80GB (boxed) £188

So I guess the difference between a PS3 40GB or 80GB and your 60GB is around the £50 taking in consideration that we both have to Post items at least first class recorded.

I don't think the PS2 compatibility is worth more than that.

So I could give you about 3 or 4 games if you are interested.
These are some of the games that I have
- Heavenly Sword
- Ratchet
- Oblivion
- Virtua Figther 4
- GTAIV (not sure about giving this one away though, so this might count as two)
- Untold Legends Dark Kingdom
- MGS4 (not sure about giving this one either)
- Singstar Vol 3 still sealed ( I could add some wired microphones)

I have some others but can't remember at the moment

Ideally we should try to meet to do this, otherwise the postage will defeat the purpose of this.

Are you base anywhere near London?

as mentioned previously i dont use the facilities offered on a 60gb..so thought if i can get 80gb ps3 and a bit more then why not.

I understand that the 60gb holds its value and has better extra's (backwards compatability, 4 usb ports etc) but if i dont use it at all then whats the point!

hmmm interesting...unfortunately i have or have had those games already.

I will be in london on saturday evening for a wedding. So if we do decide to trade then meeting up shouldnt be a problem. Let me have a think if i want to trade for a 40gb ps3..

It maybe worth buying a 40gb and the selling it CEX for a whooping £6 profit :)

The only extras i can give towards this are

Pirates of the Caribbean At worlds end
Untold legends : dark kingdom
Tony hawks proving ground

&obvioulsy like i say mine is still under warranty so you do get a much better deal from that.

60Gb, only has two issues with it, one is heat, and the other is the drive dies.

Mines had a new drive, so to me would be silly. I would keep it personally as you never know what they will bring out that requires more usb ports. May save you some money.

USB ports mean nothing. Grab a hub and hey presto you got some more (powered hubs mean doesnt matter what you put in them it will work together)

The only thing with a 60gb that i want is the backwards compatability so if its going to cost stupid amounts to get a 60gb ill buy a ps2 n component cable. Its not worth putting an in warranty console up for an out of warranty console with £50.

On the basis of the guys CEX post above id be putting up £188 for the console, £49 for the warranty & £50 cash? That means im over paying by £59 which isnt exactly fair.

Still having to grab a hub.

Backwards capability is worth holding on too.

I'd want £300 for mine lowest price, as its just had a new drive, but I ain't selling mine, even though I own a ps2.

60Gb will become more rare.
