I am selling my motherboard, RAM and CPU bundle pulled from my last PC.

The specs are pretty good and I have looked on the bay and cant see a better deal on a barebone system such as this.

Everything is seated and working, ready for you to put in a case and add a HDD - I can even supply one of those if needed, prices / capacities on request.

The specs are as follows:
CPU: Core2Duo 4400 @ 2GHz

Memory: 2Gb Patriot PC2-6400 (4-4-4) Ram (2x1Gb)

Motherboard: GigaByte GA-945GCMX-S2 FSB-1066 - Intel i945

Questions are of course welcomed. Pictures will be posted if requested.

Back plate is also included, So does the original CD. Im sure I can find the manual too but if not I will download it and put on a CD.

the motherboard has embedded graphics so you dont need a seperate card. I can do a 300gb HDD for £20 or a 1tb for £40 or even a 1.5tb - all SATA
#10
Got screens too if needed!
#11
dont need a screen thanks and i would want to run a seperate graphics card as it would perform better than onboard anyways. Will get back to you in a few min...just asking friend about hard drives......do you have a pci-e graphics card no ?
#12
The only one I have is a Gainward Geforce 4870 512Mb which I could let go fo £60 if interested?
#13
well my mate hasnt got back to me yet so i will just take what was offered in OP for £58 del. Would you accept payment via BT ? and how will you be posting ?
#14
BT is fine, I will post either by RM 1st Recorded or Citylink next day, in either case it will be packaged up well. I would do the 300gb for £17 if interested, I will even throw in a SATA cable, cant say fairer! all in at £75? if not let me know and I will let you have my details via pm..
#15
i will take the 300gb for £70 all in but can't go more than that. I wouldn't want it posted 1st class recorded as it wouldn't be covered only up to £39 would be covered.
#16
Meet halfway at £72.50? I am happy to do Citylink for you and cover the additional expense.
#17
£70 and lets make a deal
#18
You must have caught me on a good day :) sending details via pm
#19
pm sent

items have been recieved but having a few problems with it. !st the LAN port does not work, "nd the hdd had to be formatted 4 times as there were a large number of bad sectors on it and it's still not right, 3rd windows xp freezes when your trying to install no matter what copy is installed, Installing windows again now and if that fails again i will be wanting a full refund for all items purchased totalling £70 plus return postage money.

Im very supprrised, I had XBMC live running on it perfectly just before it was sent to you, there was absolutly no problems with the board and the network port I know was working perfectly. The drive should also be fine, Can you try another windows CD or even a live Linux or XBMC Live CD, which can be downloaded for free. Can you also download the drivers rather than using the ones from the CD. I had absolutly no issues beforehand.

I would be very very supprised if there is a problem. Although the board was well packaged the ram may have become loose in transit, can you take out and reseat.

Let me know how you get on.
#27
1st thing i did was reseat the cpu with artic silver 5 and reseat the ram. Will let you know tomorrow how i get on

Okay no problem, if you have a spare, ir would be good if you can check it with another HDD, if the Disk has any faults I will of course swap it for you and it could cause some of the issues you are seeing. There is absolulty no problem with the board though, unless something happened in transit?

Keep me informed.

Thanks

Got windows installed and almost all is fine, It was a dodgy sata lead that was causing the problems. The LAN post on the mobo still isnt working and when it's enabled in the bios and boots up it takes like 10 min to boot and goes to limited or no connectivity and when it's disabled in the bios it boots fine with no problems. We have a network card in there at the moment and that works great but just a bit concerned about the lan as usually once one thing goes other things are not far behind. Any ideas what we should do ?

The LAN card was absolutly fine, very concerning, have you tried using a driver from the gigabyte website or even downloading the latest from Intel. Can you try reseting the BIOS, I think I did to optimum values before sending out, might be worth seing if anything strange is enabled like PXE boot.

Does it take as long when the NIC is enabled but the cable is unplugged? at what stage does the bootup slow down in comparison to when its not enabled? POST, when windows is loading or when logging in?

Im sure we can get this sorted, glad the HDD is okay! have you tried another network cable :)

it slow from the time windows starts to load. Tried a few different drivers and in system properties it says driver is installed and working properly but it's not. Like i said when it's disbled it boots normally and into windows in just a min or so. No problem using the network card so i know its not a cable issue. It doesnt matter if a cable is plugged in or not as it takes about 10min either way so i think something went wrong from there to here.
#32
but of a pain I know but is there any chance that you can try XBMC live, if you know it, It *should* pickup the NIC automatically, as i was using it like that before. Otherwise I also ran Windows 7 on it without issues (drivers included). Im very sure this is a driver or configuration issue.
#33
Already have xp installed and setup and really don't fancy formatting again, like I said everything is great except for that onboard lan. Only problem that cause is that because the board only has 2 pci slots and now have to use one if them for a network card.

ahh, XBMC Live runs from CD so you dont need to install it, just boot it from CD, when it boots go to settings and you should see your network settings. Might be worth a go. I have seen so many problems like this that turn out to be something simple like the router its plugged into. I know you dont want to reinstall but I can send you a windows 7 CD which you can load onto a second partition, that would prove if its working or not?
