Looking to trade my iPhone 3GS for a Decent spec laptop.

The iPhone is for sale due to an upgrade to a 4G. Slight crack on the back but not particularly noticeable.

I have an Acer 3690 which I could throw into the equation if you are looking to downgrade.

Let me know make / model / specs and deal on offer please

how decent spec of a laptop are we talking? I have an alright laptop. i think its an nec versa something or other, 1.83ghz dual core, 1 gig ram, 100gig hdd. will have to find it and then find out what is it/what its specs are.

would like to see the crack on the back too if possible

After the best possible laptop for trade - I value the second hand 3GS at somewhere between £250 - £300 - personaly, I'd value a spec laptop similar to Boxs for about £150 second hand.

A pic below - you can see where the crack is top left - I will try and get a better picture up later

thats a pretty big crack! definitely not gonna fetch 300 for that, would be lucky to get 250 to be honest as ones that havent been smashed in can go for 200-225
#7
Is the iPhone unlocked, and how old is it? No warranty I guess?
#8
Ive got a dell inspiron 1750 but im not sure what kind of spec you are after?
#9
Happy with a decent spec 1750

Are you making an offer or thread spoiling?

Thanks. What network? O2?

There's a possibility that I might offer my M1330 in trade for this, but I'd need cash on top as it's a good spec and still has NBD warranty avail until March 2012.

Yes, its on o2

What spec is it and how much?

The spec below, taken from the Dell warranty page (abridged). It has the brighter and ultra thin LED screen and a few other extras - paid £800 for it new and also added NBD warranty later.

XPS M1330 CORE 2 DUO T8300 2.40GHZ, 800, 3
13.3" WXGA (1280X800) WHITE-LED DISPLAY
BIOMETRIC FINGERPRINT READER
CRIMSON RED & 0.3 MEGA PIXEL CAMERA
MEMORY DUAL CHANNEL 4.0GB (2X2048) 667 M
HARD DRIVE : 500GB SERIAL ATA (5400RPM) - see note below.
8XDVD+/-RW SLIM SLOT-LOAD DRIVE
AC ADAPTER 90W - 3 PIN
PRIMARY 9-CELL 85WHR LI-ION BATTERY
128 MB NVIDIA GEFORCE 8400M GS
INTEL? NEXT-GEN WIRELESS-N MINI-PCI CARD
EUROPEAN - DELL TRUEMOBILE 355 INTERNAL

Extras I've added:
Bluetooth travel mouse
Dell XPS sleeve (magnetic, tough outer material)
NBD Warranty until Feb 2012

Came with Vista Ultimate, but currently have a 160GB 7200RPM HDD in there since the machine has only ever used by my wife for web surfing. It is currently running Windows 7 which she likes more, but I'm afraid the licence for that won't come with the machine. I can either reinstall Vista Ultimate or put the trial copy of Win 7 on that would then need a key purchased (I buy mine for £30 from the student site - eligible if you are a student or have a child at school).

Think the laptop is easily worth £400 and I'd value the phone at about £220.

Oh, I should add that the 9-cell battery still functions properly but shows up as nearing the end of its life on the health meter. I can add a spare 6-cell battery that is much newer and shows full health. Between the two, you can easily get several hours of battery use. Would need to do an exact test, as this isn't a machine I've been using.

Slightly confused - what harddrive does it actually come with - is it the 160Gb, the 500GB or both?

Do you have the spec list and what deal you want?

It could come with either I suppose. Atm, it has the 160GB HDD installed and I was basing the above on that remaining.

Much as I'd love this, I am afraid that the max I could do is £100 on top of the iPhone (or £130 with Win 7). I didn't really want to spend any money, but yours is a nice spec (though I would have to buy Win 7 at extra cost!)

Thanks for the offer, but I'll bow out on this one. Anyway, with the purchase of a new laptop and needing a Nikon lens, I should really list this somewhere for a cash sale. Good luck with the search - hopefully someone comes along with a good deal soon :)
