nb photo of the cd player in my car is taken without the plastic surround- you'll probably need to pick up a facia plate for your car from ebay to smarten up the dash :)

By mp3 player does that mean it will play mp3 DVD's or just that you can connect an mp3 player up to it via a cable?
#3
It will play mp3 cds, so you can get about 180 tracks on a cd-r.
The mp3 dvd players are a fair bit more expensive. You'd need an additional kenwood adaptor (connects to the cd changer input) to connect an ipod directly- these run at about £20 on ebay iirc.

Ahh, ok then. I'd probably buy a FM transmitter rather than the cable.

I may be interested but would only offer £30. I could do a bank transfer though rather than paypal if you preferred.
#5
i'll offer £35 and i'll do bank transfer
need to know asap as i might be getting another one for a little more expensive by the end of the day from a work mate
#6
I want to hold out for £45 as postage is going to be pretty high, about £8/9.
#7
what about £40 and i'll do a bank transfer? today as i have onlnie banking
#8
offer withdrawn, i'm going to get a brand new one which can play mp3's from dvd for £10 more

no probs, won't be a class Kenwood unit with great sound though...

ask anyone who bought the Ripspeed units when they were cheap, there's nothing worse than a tinny car stereo on a long journey ;) unless you like punk I suppose... and whilst a dvd can hold a few thousand mp3s, imagine scrolling through all the titles to find something you like...

anyway, think of it as being like a maxim tv versus a samsung one... there are specific reasons that one is cheap!

May be interested mate

What kind of car is it in just now? take it I would need to get ISO adapter etc for it for my focus.

How's the sound quality? any problems with reading discs etc?
#11
Hi
It was in my Megane CC, it comes with the ISO adaptor and is easy to plug in (I used to have a Focus so know the stereo connections pretty well) but obviously the steering wheel controls would need an adaptor- as with any retrofit stereo. Most people probably don't bother connecting up the steering wheel controls- I never have!
The sound is fantastic- no distortion up to 25 (out of max 30) on volume and the radio sounds much better than any other stereo i've had in a car. I know my Zetec 1.6 had a great speaker system as the factory fit, so this would prob be good in yours with the standard speakers. The only thing you'll need is the facia adaptor as the standard Ford units are bigger than normal DIN units, they're about £8 on ebay or £12 in Halfords.
Absolutely no probs playing any sort of disc i've tried- and the unit is in such good condition it looks pretty much brand new. The flip front hasn't been in a pocket with keys and change as often happens, every time I got out of the car it slipped into the lidded side pocket of my drivers door.

cheers!

Its a bit annoying that when you make a thread it doesn't show your location but when you just give a normal reply in a thread it does.

I would bump it up to £35 but thats all I can do.

hiya lads, apols for the massive delay in replying- i've been working my backside off and am only now back at home.
If either of you are still interested at £40 delivered, please post on the thread and i'll send my details. I have Tues afternoon off and can post it out then.
cheers,
