My lil computer died out... So I am now looking for a cheap replacement. I will be using Linux as the main OS FYI and my budget is only £50. I am looking for a P4/Athlon XP with at least 512MB memory. Don't need a HDD as I did salvage my previous one. No need for KB, Optical Drive, Video Card, Sound Card, Mouse, Cables. Thanks for helping out guys.

you can have mine for £50 p4/ packard bell media centre, nt sure about ram, small problem needs to keep being restarted, because on loading screen, screen turns black. After a few tries it works
#3
good idea is to buy a mag called Micro Mart, it has classfied sellers of pc stuff but also has alot of refurbished system advertisements in it.

I'll have a cheap PC for sale around your budget, but not for another week or two, as i'm disposing of it for a customer when their new computer arrives. I'll post on here once it's available if you're still looking.

Could you provide me with more details re: the specs of your PC? Thanks...

have you thought about going to your local PC recycling centre, most towns have them, we've got one run by (i think) Environ, they collect unwanted pC's/monitors etc and refurb them and sell them cheap.

Emm well you may be interested in one of my old 'knock em ups':

Amd Athlon 64 3400
1gb ram (pc3200)
Ati Radeon 256mb 9600XT (crem de la creme in it's day loool)
DVD R/W drive
Floppy drive
All in a silver X-Blade case

One thing though, is the H/D you want to put in it SATA or PATA?? because whilst it has SATA on the M/Board the power supply does not have a SATA power connector.

I'll do it for £70 delivered

I'll put up some pics if you're interested

Well, I'll put up some pics when I get back from work tomorrow evening, should clear most of the stuff up. Looking at your rep I would be happy to send the item first and then ideally if possible I would prefer an online bank transfer if you have Internet banking, if not I'll accept pay pal and swallow the fee (reluctantly ;-) ).

As far as delivery goes, there is an Ebay seller I have used before who resells the Parcelforce 48hour service at discounted rates so I could just use him again, could have it collected from me Monday/Tuesday and should be with you Wednesday/Thursday.

Catch u later

why don't u buy some parts off ebay?

Computer arrived in pristine format. No complaint whatsoever regarding the overall service provided by Specman and £70 is a very good price. However, I need to cool things down a bit in the PC.
