First attempt at a sale so here goes...
I bought this from Dell outlet with the intention of attempting to run MAC OS, but then I thought "why not buy a MAC instead"? This machine is a Dell Business return in New, Unused condition, Boxed with accessories and with the cellophane still covering the keyboard. Originally built and shipped just over a month ago, so it's the latest spec.
It's even better than my XPS m1330 which I bought from Dell 4 months ago at the cost of £730. Ironically this machine would cost £847 delivered if ordered from Dell today because of the current increase in the cost of a 9-cell battery!
Full specs:
Dell XPS m1330 notebook, Tuxedo black
Intel® Core 2 Duo Processor T7250 (2.00 GHz, 2 MB L2 cache, 800 MHz FSB)
Genuine Windows Vista® Business - downgradable to XP Pro
2048MB 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM [2x1024]
128MB nVidia® GeForce® 8400M GS
160GB (5400RPM) SATA Hard Drive
8x DVD+/-RW Slim Slot Load Drive
Wireless-N Mini-Card
Microsoft® Works 9.0
1 Year XPS Next Day Business Onsite Support (50+ weeks remaining!)
Power Supply 65W AC Adapter
Dell TrueMobile 355 internal Bluetooth Module
Primary 9-cell Lithium-Ion Battery (85 WHr)
Biometric Fingerprint Reader
13.3" UltraSharp WXGA (1280x800) White-LED Display (300 nits) with TrueLife
0.3MP integrated camera

I got this exact spec from the dell outlet for £100 less...It's worth checking the Outlet every day, there's one or two of these a week

EDIT: Don't get me wrong, the system is worth £580 in my opinion, you won't get it this cheap on the dell site

I can vouch for this machine too. Have one with 2.2GHz and it's a liddle beauty (bit like myself). The LED screen is super thin and bright too, although the vision is slightly different than on a regular screen. Had it for several weeks and it's still my new baby. Just checked outlet and you won't beat this price at the moment. Good luck with the sale!

Hi MumboJumbo. The spec you linked to was from the service tag online...when I received the Notebook, it was different from the spec. But I've realised it still wasn't as good as yours, it had 6 cell Battery instead of the 'stick out the back' 9 cell.

Good luck with your sale, the price is still worth it, and whats wrong with you making a few quid ;-)

i sold my one last nighto n ebay for £575 in the end. and it was a better spec then this and it was new and not a refurb
[mod]#5
Hi mumbohumbo :) Can you please post images of the notebook for sale, preferably with your username written on a note in the images. Additionally, can you please provide feedback elsewhere, such as an ebay username? Thanks.

The M1330 is the beauty i had stolen last week :(. It is such a nice laptop, this is a great price, shame my insurance hasnt come through yet or i would have snapped this up! GRRRR scum of the earth those thieves.

Oh good luck with the sale by the way

You probably don't want an inferior laptop but I'll offer my Sony Vaio VGN-B1XP (1.7 Centrino, 1gb RAM, 60gb 7200rpm) plus 350 cash.
banned#8
I can offer £380 plus a HP copaxn9030.
#9
Gahhh, i really want this thing!!

Is there any kind of warranty included?
#11
mumbojumbo
Oooh. A potential buyer :-D

Yes, baconsandwich, this does come with the remainder of a 12 month Next Business Day onsite service warranty direct from Dell. If you were to buy this then the warranty would be transferred over to your name. Should you have any problems then a service engineer should come out to you on the next working day to sort it out. It's also easy to extend the warranty too, if that's a concern.

Have a think about it. It's worth it (but I'm biased :p).

For £580 I could send this up to you in Leics (?) by Next Day Special Delivery.

Yeah I'm in Leics. Let me have a little think.. Even contemplating selling my Wii to raise funds for this. Will get back to you soon.

I think I would of seriously contemplated buying this of you if it weren't for the 13.3inch screen size which I'm scared might be a little too small.

Would you mind giving me your own honest viewpoint on the screen size 'mumbojumno'?

if it helps i web designed on the m1330 before it was taken, and that caused no issues at all even though i needed to see elements in detail.

Cheers guys. Its helped a lot, is the screen 8bit or 6bit?
banned#15
Alright, thanks for digging up for me, I guess it's a 6-bit screen.

On the laptop, I'll offer £440 - I know this isn't what you'd want but I don't think I can stretch it more unless I sell to raise funds.

Sorry, samy but £440 is much too low. :w00t: It cost much more than that.

The cheapest Dell XPS m1330 on offer recently was this one at £482:
http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/167951/dell-xps-1330-notebook-with-linux-1/

£482 would have bought a slower CPU, less RAM, smaller hard drive, no dedicated graphics card, Linux OS instead of Windows, no LED screen, no finger print reader, no Bluetooth, no Intel Next-Gen Wireless-N card, only a 4-cell battery instead of 9-cell and the warranty would not have offered next day support.

Thanks for your offer, but I'm going to have to decline :)

Just to note that the finger-print reader is standard. One I bought on Outlet claimed to have none but a quick phone call proved it not to be true.

hmmm still tempted by this, but would want media centre for my xbox 360 - can this be bought seperatley?

Also how much does the 9 cell battery stick out, and is the laptop completely unused?

Thanks

My thoughts on the battery as I have both a 9-cell and a 6-cell. The 9-cell does stick out but not by much and it has clearly been designed to do so in the best possible way (sound like Kenny Everett!). It lifts the laptop for elevated typing with the 9-cell. The downside of course is that it adds weight - that's why I like my 6-cell for carrying around the house. However, this is such a relatively light notebook compared with others (that I've had anyway) that you will probably not even notice this extra weight - and you'll certianly appreciate the battery life. The LED screen also cuts down on power consumption.

EDIT: btw, do a google search for reviews on this model and you'll find close-up photos of the machine with both 9-cell and 6-cell attached

one thing to bear in mind is that this machine is difficult to upgrade things on because of its size; although to be fair, the spec on this machine will probably do all that you ask of it, I would have thought. What do you need the extra power/higher specs for/ Will you use them and see a noticeble improvement? But I know where youare coming from. I'm also holding out for a higher res screen on an M1530 or a Vostro 1700 (so completely torn!)
