Up for sale is my beloved MacBook Pro. This was bought in June 2007 as my first Mac, and it has without a shadow of doubt been the best computer that I have ever owned. I am only selling this due to an earlier than expected upgrade; I had initially planned to use it for another year or two. The specs are as follows:
2.33 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor
2GB DDR2 RAM
Radeon X1600 256MB Video Card
120GB Hard Drive
This has received heavy use, but cosmetically it is in excellent condition for its age, which can be seen from the pictures. There are no dents or similar in the casing, and it has generally been well taken care of. It comes with the box, which has all of its inserts and original contents, including the remote and such.
It has run like a dream for the past four years, and continues to do so. There are only two points to note. The first is that, as with most MacBook Pros from this era, the battery is more or less dead. You can get about 10 minutes charge from it on a good day, so generally speaking you'll need to keep it on the mains. The second thing is that there have been a couple of issues with the disc drive whereby it refuses to read discs. This has happened very rarely, but is a known issue with this model so it is worth mentioning. Ultimately the issue has ironically only ever been with Apple Software CDs such as Snow Leopard and iLife; I have never had any issue at all with music CDs, DVDs or games. Invariably this issue is solved through persistence, as the drive has always eventually read the DVD (indeed, it was encountered and solved in this manner for the fresh install of Snow Leopard to prepare it for the sale).
The Mac has been completely wiped and given a fresh install of Snow Leopard for the sale. It is almost literally as you would get it if it were new. I have set up a basic Administrator account, and once this has been changed to your own details there will not be a single thing on the hard drive to suggest that it has been used by anyone else.
I am not willing to post this. Given the value I will only accept cash on collection or delivery, and am willing to deliver within ten miles or so of Chester or Manchester. This is not just to ensure that there is no damage in transit, but also so that the buyer can see everything working before paying.
The price is a rough estimate after browsing some Ebay listings, as I am unsure of the value. Offers are welcome on that basis, though clearly I will expect people to provide reasoning/evidence if that is the case.
Any questions, by all means ask.
Cash on collection or delivery.
