Hi There

I don't see the Rolex crown embezzeled on the glass (at the 6 o'clock)..Is it there?
Also exactly what paperwork have you got with this watch?
Where was it originally purchased?
Do you have proof of purchase?
Is it available for collection?
Are you happy that this is taken to a jeweller for authentification before money is given?
Are you open to offers?

Sorry for all the questions...Way too many fakes arounds...Not saying yours is, just need to be sure..

Regards

I fully agree with cheekyboy that you can never be too careful when buying a secondhand Rolex..a mate of mine is living proof as his looked very authentic until it packed up and he took it for repair!!

£990 for a watch, WOW. What else can it do apart from tell the time? ;)

Anyway, I don't think your £5 P&P will cover Special Delivery with enhanced insurance.

Welcome to HDUK and good luck with the sale.

Yeah, the reason i ask is you can buy excellent copies from South Asia for about a tenner...I bought back 7 lovely Rolex's - one for every day of the week!
To be honest, before ebay caught on, i sold 5 on ebay for £100 each..Mostly to bidders the States. You would have thought fakes/copies would be in abundance out there.
And before you ask - they did know exactly what they were buying!

This watch was purchased from paris when i was there on a long weekend trip, due to fraud etc,, i cannot allow people to recieve the item then pay after they have recieved it i am only saying 5 pounds for postaged as the cost of postaged fully insured will be taking out of the total final purchase price as if i said 10 pounds plus it would put people off the rolex is 100% gen, article thanks

All I can say is that if you want to sell this on here you'll probably have to allow the potential purchaser to meet you at an agreed venue and both of you take it to a Rolex retailer for it to be OK'd as the genuine article..with the seller paying any fees for that service as part of the agreed selling price.

The watch is far too expensive for me and to be honest I'd be afraid to flash it as there are too many idiots, who when they spot such a timepiece on an old fogey like me , will perform a mugging without a second thought.

I'd rather stay safe with a Timex!!!!

Possibly impress the ladies?

I agree, way to much for a watch on a deals forum out of all places.

NNW123 - thanks for your reply..I wouldn't expect you to send the watch before payment is received..I would like to meet with you to make sure it is real...For that kind of money , surely you understand..

You haven't also answered my questions..

That video makes it look like a fake; look at the bezel pearl, the magnification and the crown guard. If you want to prove that it is real then you'll need to post some far more convincing photos of the watch completely straight on (not at a slight angle), orthographic projections and shots of the back, in focus and at a decent res. Your poor grasp of the English language and financial problems are not really typical of the owner of a genuine submariner either, you even mis-named the watch and stated that the dial is blue and the picture of the rolex with the papers has been taken from an ebay auction and shows the watch complete with blue strap protector, unlike the other photo and strange considering you have worn it 'about five times'.

My verdict? Fake as hell.

lol the only way id buy a rolex or omega or rado etc is going to a genuine dealler and buying that way as lets face it in china the copies are very good, I bought some raybans off ebay and although they came from the uk I am 100% sure they are fakes and although i cant prove it I just dont think it has quite the same quality.

In this case aint all rolexes registered using a individual serial number printer on the rear of the watch?

In the face of further proof, I am inclined to agree - and I have a blessed Rolex - worst purchase I ever made from Watches of Switzerland- when it stops, expect a £500 repair bill from the manufacturers- I've gotten 2 such bills twice now, well 1 bill and 1 estimate now in 'hand'. Built for life? Ha!

Also, every 2 years you have to have it cleaned etc - by said manufacturer.

Considering the guy has not even responded to all of the posts made on the thread with accusation of it being fake, I think its evidence enough on his part through failure to reply that its most probably a bogey.

If the OP's ebay name is the same as his HDUK name then he has been NARuD for selling e-books on ebay:-
