Hi there,

This is my first post so please tell me if Ive done anything wrong/violated any post rules.

Basically im selling a modded wii (not sure what the chip is but cost me £40 to get installed). This package includes the original box, console, power cable, scart cable, stand, wiimote, two wiimote jackets, nun chuck and remote bar.

Was a mobile phone free gift so no receipt but as its now a year old, I suppose its out of warranty? Really hasnt been used that ,much, typically never found time to really use it.

It comes with no games (in any shape or form!) sorry. The chip works as expected so if thats what your after thats what it does!

Have 100% ebay feedback as totten32 so please feel free to check me out and buy in confidence. I live in Norwich and dont mind anyone picking up (seems like half of norwich are on hotukdeals!)

Photo's on my photobucket account (this link should work!) :

would you be willing to post 1st if we agree on a price?

Hi manj.
Do you mean post 1st class? I think £15 is for standard royal mail packages (insured up to 300 pounds I think?)

Post first means to send before payment. As a new member you'll need to do this and trust the feedback and reputation the other user has (as well as the fact that you have their address!)

oh right, got that totally wrong then! thanks giles. Providing they have good previous feedback then I would be prepared.

How do you know the chip works if you have no games for the console?

Do you mean you have some but you are not selling them, or is it that you had some & now do not (as you may have sold them elsewhere)?

Is the modification chip enabled/disabled by an external switch, or is it permanently enabled?

Finally, please could you relay details of who installed the chip, and which version of the official Nintendo system software (firmware) is currently installed?

Thanks.

BFN,

fp.

PS. Thanks for arranging photos between you.

The console looks very clean... much like the location you took the photos in!

Do you have any furnitive that isn't white? ;)

Seriously, I can see there is no external switch for the chip. Do you know if it can be disabled by some clever finger-death-grip on boot-up of the console?

Hi fanpages,

The console originally came with wii sports which I sold a while back. The chip is not a wiikey I know that as I ran an update for it and it stated it wasnt one of those when I ran the cd update. Have looked round the net to try and find a way of finding out what it is to no avail. It was installed by a friend at work's friend (i know this sounds a bit dodge!) but without incriminating myself I know that it works with dvd-r backup copies of games. I dont work at this place anymore so I cant get anymore details, as rubbish as that is. All i was told at the time was that it wasnt one of the cheaper chips (this was done in May 2008)

As for firmware it is the latest one 3.3 I believe, I can check if need be, i last powered on about one month ago so it would of been the one from then. It has the internet channel and so on downloaded.

Sorry I cant be more specific about the chip but I dont have the nintendo head screwdriver to open it up.

Thanks

Nic

Yup!

If you're trying to sell something pre-owned where the only differentiating factor between a new example & your item is not clear, then less people will be inclined to make an offer (especially considering the costs involved).

Thanks for all your efforts, but I'm out...

Do you know whether the chip was soldered on or whether it was one of the Wii clip ones?
#19
Im not sure, I do remember something about it enhancing the dvd drive though if that helps

OK had a look through my messenger files and found some info about the chip when it was installed

he said yup but it has to come out to be upgraded, only games it doesnt work with I think is Super Mario Smash Brothers and Super Mario Galaxy.

needs to be plugged into PC and upgraded. There is a wire than can be attached to the reset switch to upgrade via DVD but its very dangerous afair in multiple ways

one for the size of the two hit it by acident and the Wii;s out of steath mode and can be detected by Nintendo firmware

I think theres also an upgrade to the speed the DVD drive reads the disc at aswell

Can anyone tell what it is from that!!
