I'm reluctantly putting up for sale my MSI 865 Deluxe PC because I need the money to pay for my new media center.

The tech specs for the PC are:

2.8Ghz Pentium 4 Processor
768mb RAM
Radeon 9600SE Graphics Card
MSI 8606 TV Card
120GB IDE Hard Disk
Remote Control
Fresh, Legitimate copy of Windows XP SP2
802.11b Inbuilt Wireless Card

I installed a copy of Windows XP SP2 yesterday after formatting the hard disk. Installed the wireless drivers and that all works fine. The computer does not come with a CD/DVD drive, but I can install one if the buyer requests and is happy to pay £20 extra. I also tested this to see if it would play downloaded hi-definition content, which it did at 25fps (720p episode of 24).

As well as PC mode this computer can also be used in HiFi mode. Which when connected to an FM attena allows you to listen to radio and play cds from the cd player (should one be installed), without the whole PC being on. This is also controllable via the supplied remote control.

I think that £170 is a reasonable price for the PC, but will listen to all reasonable offers.
I'll be happy to answer any questions on the item. It's been a great computer for me over the years and would make an excellent media center PC.

Oh also, I'll add pictures of the computer tonight, am at work at the moment and have left my pictures at home :(

Here's a link to a review of the computer:

Note that the included graphics card is a half height graphics card so avoids any heating issues that the review my talk about.
Postage included in the price, will be sent via royal male parcels within 24 hours of payment being received by paypal.

I'm interested in all reasonable offers for this, I'll drop the asking price to £140 if that helps, but any offers around there will be taken seriously..
Let me know if there are any questions about this computer..

andrew what would u be looking for ie any trades accepted?
oh sorry, I'm really after the money for this item if at all possible. I might be tempted to trade for a good condition N95, but otherwise offers of around £140 would be great :)
cool, not interested in a ipod nano 8 gig brand new plus some cash?
I'm tempted! I'm desperate for the cash though so if we could hold off until sunday at say 8pm? If nobody has made a cash offer by then, I'd accept the sale for the Ipod + You pay postage costs? (I'll keep reciepts of postage and let you know how much it cost). Let me know your thoughts.
hi how much does the pc weigh??
ps u said the wireless is working? what about the hifi etc?!
i just need to make sure!!

how about i pay postage for my ipod and when u get a price il pay for your pc too! yeh sunday is fine
How much for collection? I can collect at the weekend I only live in Bedford
also would you be interested in a trade with an Acer L100 HTPC? Or some Wii stuff
PC Weighs approx 6KG, if P&P comes to more than £15 then I'll cover the rest of it.

The HiFi works with FM / AM Radio, and should you install a CD Player (Currently one is not included), that would work fine to. I do have the DVD RW that was designed for this computer, but its being put to use in a different computer right now. I could install that for you for another £20 if your desperate for the CD Player.
its fine i already have a spare cd player would i need a cable or anything?
If collection only then I'd take £125 in cash for the PC seeing as the Ipod Nano Deal works out at around £140 - £15 postage.
Let me know your thoughts on this. I'm at home all day tomorrow, Sunday and Monday.
No special cable required for the item. It has both SATA connections and IDE connections for the CD Drive
might be able to get cheaper postage from i have used them a few times there good!
OK any interest in the trade offer
Sorry, I've just spent far too much money making a new HTPC, and have too much Wii stuff :( thanks for the offer anyway
whats the max ram this the mobo takes? and also what socket is the processor? thanks.
£100 all in

Possible to see pics of inside ?
Socket 478 is the processor socket. I've been searching for the support CPU for it and the best I've found is that it:
'Supports Socket 478 for Intel ® Pentium™4 and Celeron® processors up to 3.06GHz+'
Max Supported RAM is 2GB.
have you had any problems with overheating?

Does it come with a windows disk & COA?
Just uploading pictures of the inside now. Will be a few minutes
The version of Windows XP thats installed on it is a copy that was given to me via the University of Readings MSDN Alliance scheme.
For those unfamiliar with this scheme, students have to download and burn their own copy of Windows XP and are given a serial number to enter, this explains why their is no COA / Windows XP disk included. However Windows XP is fully activated on the computer.
Oh, and as for overheating, I've never had any such problems. Sometimes when playing a graphic intensive game the fans might start going a bit faster, but its never caused any kind of stability issue.
TV Card + Graphics Card:

Top of inside (space for DVD Drive)

RAM Modules and CPU Heatsink and Fan (Almost silent)
i forgot to mention, the remote control is included and is in perfect working order.
ps has this got all codes, software etc installed so i can play divx, avi etc?
ps few more questions, do u have any box? all drivers including xp disc etc ..
what about the connections on the graphics card? cam i connect to a hd tv?
do you also have MSI Media Center Installed
also is it onboard sound. can i connect to my external 5.1 system and use sound that way?
also i wanted to ask what memory-ram it takes? if i want to add my dvd rom i just need to put into the slot? thanks
pc what can i do with the tv card?!
Sorry about the time taken to reply, been a busy morning!

I'll do my best to answer all your questions:

I dont have the box, all drivers are installed, I can write them to a seperate cd if you would like. No windows XP disc, although the copy of windows XP that is installed is legitimate (See previous post explaining this).

Connections on the graphic card are S-Video out and DVI-Out, I'll include the DVI to VGA adapter I've been using which has allowed me to connect it to my hdtv.

MSI Media Center is not installed, I installed it when I first bought this computer, but it seemed a complete pain in the bum, but can install it if you would like.

Sound connections - Both digital optical out and 3 jack sockets for Front, Rear and Bass speakers I believe so it can be connected to a 5.1 sound system.

It takes standard DDR Memory, PC3200 is whats in there at the moment I believe. Putting the DVD drive in there is just a case of slotting it in, although its not quite as easy as in a standard case because of the small dimensions, but shouldnt be longer than a 5 minute job really.

The TV Card, in theory you should be able to install MSI's software for this and then use the supplied remote control to change the channel. As great as MSI are at making hardware, they dont seem the best for making software so again I've avoided installing this, but can try to do so if its requested. I believe the TV card is terrestrial TV Only.

I hope that answers everything, let me know if you have any further questions.
andrew thats great so far thanks mate
a quick question about the ipod nano,
is it the second generation nano - i.e:

or is it the first generation - i.e:
still looking for cash offers on this, or I am open to a trade involving a modern mp3 player, preferrably an Ipod or Creative zen with 20GB+ storage.
The current best offer I've had is a trade for an Ipod Nano 8GB + Buyer pays postage.
Does this come with a keyboard etc,if so i`ll offer £125......Let me know
hi mate its the 3rd generation ie the latest ipod nano video ipod
My mistake. Sorry.
