Hi guys, have to sell this baby as i need money for this summer. also will have no room at university for it :-(
this is the description i have made, i will be selling it on ebay in a few days if i recieve no decent offers.
For those of you who wish to collect it, i live in abingdon, 6 miles from oxford.
Im asking a reasonable £50, i paid much more and its condition hasnt changed since i bought it. check the description for more info, but the general idea is : few scratchs, not v visible, and dusty. thats it.
the item weights around 5.5kg, this is a underestimate its most likely to be more. on the safe side, 7kg, possibly 6kg. I have done some research into possible couriers, but if you know of any who do it cheaper do let me know, postage cost varies from £15 to £20.
so heres what i'll be putting on ebay, thank you for your time:
This is my good old NAD 3020A stereo amplifier. This is the first amp I have owned, and its been in my posetion for the past 2 years.
When I was looking for an amp two years ago, I wanted something good for my money, so I looked around on the net, and asked where I could find what I was looking for. After a lot of searching around, I was recommended the NAD 3020A, this recommendation was backed up by several people of the same audio forum, so.... i got it!
This amp really will not disapoint you, if you are considering buying this amp, look around for reviews! its a top amp!
The amp also amplifies the volume by quite a lot, my old speakers could not handle the volume! so the music goes pretty loud.
review of this amp:
"NAD 3020A's phono section, I cued up the selection. It sounded absolutely excellent. Not too bright, plenty of detail, a nice, fast presentation, open and airy, good imaging, and as large a soundstage as my room and loudspeakers will allow. I was quite surprised how well this hardware stood up to critical listening on a track that I am very, very familiar with. I was very surprised, and Tom Holman certainly knew his stuff when he designed this phono stage. The NAD 3020 is NOT overrated by any stretch of the imagination in regards to its phono section. Phenomenal (for the price) is my summation".
The condition of the amp:
The coniditon hasn't changed since I have purchased this amp, there are a few (not very visible) scratchs located n the top & the sides, but the front panel is intact. The amp could do with a clean, i will do this for you before sending it out. As far as i know, and i have been using this amp whenever i listen to music, there is no electrical fault, or sound distortion! please be aware of what kind of cables you can connect at the back, if you look around on google you can look at better quality pictures of what the back really looks like.
I used this amp to connect: my cd player, my computer & my ipod, all you need are 3.5mm cables with twin RCA cables. I will provide one of those cables so you can use the amp immediatly and so you know what sort of cable you need. (they are cables i had to purchase seperatly)
To connect the speakers, all you need is some wire, which i purchased from homebase. I will provide you with this wire, but bare in mind its cheap and you would be better off buying some better quality wire.
My reasons for selling this amp
Im going to university in septembre, so im going to have to say farewell to my beloved amp, as the 3x3m rooms just won't have the space for this and the speakers i own.
There is also the obvious need for money, before i go to uni i want to see europe, so i will be going on interail and i need money to finance this.
A little bonus...
if the winner comes to collect the amp, he can choose to take the speakers i have been using. They are not the best speakers in the world, they came from an old hifi, the make is sony, but they will do the job. they were also no match for my amp, "half" volume on the amp was the max the speakers could take before they started rattling, although do note that this was loud anyway! it was just the bass that the speakers couldnt handle. That said, the speakers arnt bad either, and more to the point, i'll give them away for free.
