NEED TO SWAP CALL OF DUTY 5 WORLD AT WAR PS3 UK EDITION FOR US EDITION

I have the UK edition of COD5 World at War and recently downloaded the new map packs from the US Store as the UK one wasn't working:(

I have since found out that the downloadable content for this game is region locked and in order for me to play the new maps, I need to have the US version of the game:(

So, if you've been to the states, etc and have came back with the US version and am in a similar boat to me then please feel free to get in touch so that we can exchange versions:)
Shipping/Payment:
No payment, straight swap only.

would you do a trade for another ps3 game?

the maps have been added to the normal playlists, you just cant specifically play only the new maps.

only thing buying the maps do now is allow you to only play those three maps.

So you will still get a chance to play them.

thanks for this info, but my 11 year old says he cant play the the new modes or the new zombie map as its saying we havent purchased the game packs from the PSN when we have:(

He tried downloading the map packs again but it still doesnt work as the content is region locked to the version of the game you have:(

We have the UK game, and the US downloadable content so they're not compatable:( and I feel I've just flushed £8 odds down the drain.

he cant play the new zombie map but the other maps have been put into the core and hardcore playlist so they will eventually turn up for him to play on, just depends on how much he plays and if noone skips the map - even if you havent got them off the uk store.

hope that makes sense.

Or if you know someone who has bought UK maps ask them if you can log into their account and download them, that way is free and all you need to do is keep the user you downloaded them off on your user accounts.

If its like the 360 then dlc is region locked as you state. So having a us game but uk dlc will not work together

thanks for your help and advice peterdj:)

I did see people talking about sharing downloads/games etc but thought that would be a bit "iffy" unless they were really good friends that you could trust.

Unfortunately not many of my son's friends have PS3's and of the one's that do, there parents are too stingy to buy them the add-ons:(

We did try to buy the maps off the UK store earlier on today, but for some reason it wouldn't let me add funds to my account:(

We ended up using Entropay (virtual visa card) and going through the US store:(

Minimum load to the card was £10 and I suppose I should have checked it out first that it was definately gonna work:(

Been with Sony since day one but they are a disaster at times:(

I only wish i'd know that sooner, but hopefully this post might stop others making the same costly mistake if nothing else:)

Only other thing i could suggest is buying a us copy of somewhere like www.movietyme.com or US ebay and then sell your uk copy to recover your losses.

Hope that helps :)

i did think about doing something like that but when i checked out the likes of cex they are offering a measley £13 cash for cod5 but are selling it for £30!!!!

Movietyme are selling the US COD5 for £36 and ebay.com isnt cheap either.

Hopefully someone in the UK will have the US version that they can swap, if not then I might just have shell out another £8 on the game for him if I can eventually add funds to the account again:(
