Okay, it's time for another clearout- i'm anticipating moving back to Manchester for at least three months at the end of May, so i'm going to rent out my flat here in Cardiff and put things into storage... hence me wanting to clear out anything i'm not going to use. My plan is to clear £1500 of sales to pay for me to go to Tokyo in October... cool eh! Anyway...

This Crimson and matt black DS was bought brand new in Mid October 2007 from a BestBuy electronics shop just off of Hollywood Boulevard. It's absolutely mint- there is not a scratch on it, and it works perfectly. All the packaging is here, including the leaflets, Brain Age 2 game which is still sealed, Nintendo carrying case/sleeve thingy, US charger, and an additional Logic 3 charger for the UK. It's seen about 100 hours use since I got it, mostly on Advance Wars (60 hours!) and has never been out of the house- only ever used on the settee.

This is the best DS i've owned and the finish is as good as you've been told. Obviously the DS plays all UK games, will charge as normal through the adaptor, and does everything a UK bought DS will do whilst looking quite a bit cooler :) There's a screen protector on the top screen and there are absolutely no scratches or pressure marks on the bottom screen.

Asking price is £105 inc Special Delivery. Paypal or bank transfer is great, obviously paypal fees would need to be added to the price, and bank transfer funds would need to clear before dispatch. I'll post some pics below in the next ten mins.

would collection in Manchester at the end of May be an option? deposit paid via paypal and balance on collection? . . .

hiya gringo, when I say the end of May I think that practically it'll be the 15th of June, because my girlfriend is going back to San Francisco on the 14th, and I don't think she'll let me out of her sight before then...
I'm a bit torn here because you've made a great offer, but i'm having to move back up with just a carload of clothes, laptop etc so it'd probably make more sense to have only the things i'll need in the car.... although the DS is only about the size of a sandwich.... hope you don't mind, but i'll hang about to see if I get any other offers before deciding :)
cheers, BillyX

Good to see you back Mark. Unfortunately I can't afford your DS but I would be interested in renting your flat. Do you take DSS lol? When you posting the rest of the stuff your getting rid of? I know you've got lots of lovely things that you would sell me at a sweet price!

Hi,

Any chance of a photo of the dual screens switch off to check for marks, and any of the top & underside, again to check for damage?

Thanks.

Hi there,

Good to be back [I think... my wallet isn't so sure]!

Hope you're well too.

Yes, anytime you can get the photos available will be fine.

I'll be out now until about 8pm anyway.

Hiya FP.
Got back really late i'm afraid- sorry- and so the pics haven't come out at all well because my Sony F505V is really on it's last legs and will only take decent close-ups when there is excellent natural light in the room. I'll post better pictures tomorrow, but for now here's a link to the ones I took tonight (note- no screen pics because absolutely nothing came out apart from the reflection from my ceiling lights... sigh!)

Ha ha, I was also going to post something similar (although not about the flat, Swansea is too far from work for me :))
Let us all know when the rest is up mate, and don't post it durring the day, I will be at work, lol :P

SWANSEA????

actually, Cardiff isn't that much better than Swansea I guess. More fights and the chance of bumping into a cyberman on Queen Street, but apart from that it's about equal in Welsh rubbishness. Yes the money is good here but i'll be glad to get back to Mancs for a bit, just a shame I can't get back for the 21st.
I don't know how much stuff i'll be able to list, i'm just thinking it's a good idea to sell the bigger items that i'll probably end up upgrading in the next year anyway- but i'll prob do a big listing of games and DVDs in about a week so I just have one or two days of parcelling and sending. Am prob gonna part with the 360 too, I can't see me using it a fair while and i've got a hankering for another PS3 now GTA is out. Is it worth keeping the HD (it's a premium) and selling the console, leads and controller here for £110ish? or am I best including the HD lads?
#11
To be honest fella I'm on the hunt for a 360 myself but struggling to gather cash. I'm in the middle of exchanging stuff at CEX w3ith the intention of getting one from there but they are about £145 for an unboxed core!!!!!! Got about £70 worth of vouchers at the mo though!

I missed out on a premium with HD and all leads yesterday for £70, gutted, but the guy did sell me an RRoD premium on it's own for £25 so that will go nicely along with the core I have with a dodgy disc drive, now...time to call M$ and get this RRoD sorted, then I can play GTA IV on the 360 (why not just get it for the 360 instead of the PS3?, xbox has extra downloadable content coming and it is exclusive, as Micro$oft paid for it to be developed, lol).

Thanks for organising the photos. I liked the Bob Mills TV programme... didn't realise there were so many made!

I presume the marks on the facia of the console in the first couple of photos are just grime from dead skin cells, but is the lid of the console missing some of the red paint near to the left hinge.

Also, is the mark in the center of the lid a grease spot?

Finally, do you have any the second original stylus to include with the sale, or just the one you have in the side of the console?

fp.

Hiya rmp4- thanks, but £80 is a bit low, i'd have to think about £90 tbh because this is 'the' DS to have :)

Hiya FP
well, have just tried to take some more pics but tbh they aren't any better than the ones taken in the daytime, so i'll have a look over it now under my bright lamp for you in detail, with reference to the questions posed above:
yes, they are dead skin cells (eew, horrible to think of them as that!)/ dust, the red seems to attract them more than other colours... the only damage visible under normal room light is a small indentation near the front of the lid (above slot 2) which is a slight dent of 2mm. Under the bright light, it's a little more 'L' shaped, with two 'dots' above it. about 1cm to the upper right of this, there is a 1mm indentation that is noticeable under room light. No paint is missing from the lid at all (I can see where the picture makes it look like there may be paint missing from the top left corner, that's simply a problem caused by my camera, a bright day, very white walls, and the best part of two walls of my front room being floor-to-ceiling glass!), either on the top or on the rim that is visible when the DS is open.
As for the grease spot, that's actually a reflection of one of the spotlights on my living room ceiling! The crimson red is very reflective, heading towards a mirrored finish actually.
The bottom of the DS suffers a little more from light marking- not scratches as such, but the nature of the matt finish means that even wiping it with a damp cloth leaves some sort of residual mark. The battery cover shows this most of all, as it seems to be manufactured separately to the rest of the DS, resulting in it having a very slightly different finish; the Slot 2 cover seems to have the same problem, I presume Nintendo manufacture the body and additional parts on different production lines.

On to the last question, i'm afraid the second stylus is the only thing missing. I've even found the sumptous A3 Nintendo '07 'Catalog' which came in the box and is actually quite cool. The spare stylus may be in my Los Angeles bag and i'll have a look for it tomorrow- but equally it may be in a hotel room under the bed somewhere. Apart from that, everything including the protective wrappers is in the box.

Hope this helps FP, I would categorise the DS as being 9/10 with the final mark being lost for very small amount of wear that are only visible under quite heavy scrutiny and a 90W bulb :)

Just consulted my 8 year old niece (well her mum anyway). She can manage £85.
How can your second stylus be in a hotel room if the DS has never been out of the house though? :):)
#19
Hmmn, good point- bought in America as mentioned so I guess technically it's actually been out of the house, through LA, across Nevada, Utah, Wyoming, South Dakota, Minnesota, etc to the Atlantic and back thorough the UK to Wales..... damn well travelled! I'd go to £90 inc special delivery via BT if that's of any use to you...
#20
Thanks for the quick reply. I don't think she will go to £90. She is a bit upset the HMV offer of £60 for a DS (old style) and a game did not come off so I have been looking for a DS Lite. I can get a new one for £90 delivered from John Lewis - though I appreciate it won't have a game/case... and it won't be red - but this 8 year old is not into colour trends with DSs.

Again, many thanks for your comprehensive reply.

Given that an 8 year is in need of this (more than I am), I'll see if you can reach a mutually agreeable price between you two first.

Hope you both have a good weekend.

Well worth the asking price, if I didni't have 2 DS Lite's already and a multiplying collection of PSP's I would have had this myself :P
Good luck with the sale billyX

Mike..

I'm still enjoying the last PSP I got off you mike... Burnout Revenge is taking up far too much of my time at the mo!

Anyway, having thought about moving and everything I have to do, i've decided to accept Searcher2's potential offer of £85 if they are still interested and have pm'd this info to them as well.
#24
Just as I had decided to get one from Duty Free next week.... Great. I'll take it thanks. Going to PM.
#25
Hi billyx, if searcher2 doesnt want it, i am still interested ;-)

Payment received, sending the DS tomorrow afternoon for a Weds AM arrival :)

Bit confused who bought your console, but I'm glad you found a suitable home for it.

Maybe see you in another thread soon, BillyX.

I bought it (see post #25). I had decided to buy one in UK Duty Free (they are £85 at Currys) but went for this instead - the kids would get it a bit quicker and it is a bit different.

If anything like the PSP console I bought from BillyX last year I'm sure you (and your kids) won't be disappointed.

Happy gamin',
