Hi Folks - as a robust and fully featured camera I thought that this would meet my needs for Motocross/hols - being waterproof, shockproof (100KG) and freezeproof - important in Aberdeenshire! Any of you folks got one for sale? Please let me know . . . . .
Happy to do Paypal

I have the Olympus u790sw 7.1mp camera and it has a similar spec to the one you mentioned, I have used it in every situation imaginable and it does exactly what it says on the tin.

I have pushed it down in the sand, washed it in the surf, filmed underwater both sea and river, captured awesome footage in scotland/aberdeenshire in all temperatures, it came into it's own during thailands songkran water festival, dropped it on several occasions, kept it in a full pint glass and even used it as a normal digi cam.

My findings are as follows:

Underwater is fantastic and produces startling footage.
Photo quality is excellent but the limited optical zoom with mine is a slight hindrance and fully zoomed is poor quality.
Video quality is good but using the zoom a little can distort and blur.
The user interface is simple and a dream to use with simple settings for any situation or destination.

I would recommend it and Olympus highly but the 10.1 mp would only be required if the images/footage you capture are to be viewed at a huge size with no loss of quality, 7.1mp is more than enough. The only bad thing Is the optical zoom, if the 10.1 has more than 3 x optical zoom then you're onto a winner, anything less than 5 x and you will experience the blurred images and video when zoomed in that I have with mine.

These things are near indestructable and highly recommended but check that you actually need 10.1mp as opting for 7 or 8mp could save you a fair bit.
Hello - many thanks for your comments . . . . . . I appreciate your honesty with regards to the useage - sounds just the job! - We do need 10MP, as most of the photos are close up, and we edit and crop alot so the high mag is needed. Dont use the zoom so much or the video (lucky enough to have a high def video - though not water or crush proof!) so that area is not such an interest either . . . . glad its up to the job! Just need to find one now under £199 - (Amazon)

Any Ideas anyone?
I picked up the 850SW in Currys for £146 the other day, similar spec to the 790 though
