Presuming you already have a TV, is the "package" you are expecting to include at least one game title (or else you will have nothing to play 'straight away')?

Also, I think with postal/courier costs you are going to struggle to find a pre-owned PS3 for your budget unless a local seller comes forward (or you buy a pre-owned model from a local branch of CEx, for instance). The original PS3 models (the "Phat" as opposed to the recently released/revised "Slim" models) are almost 5Kg in weight.

I hope I am wrong, but you are really only looking at the cheapest 40Gb European/UK model for that price, & I wish you well finding one in a good condition for the money you have to spend.

That is, assuming you would not consider a 20Gb Japanese model, as these may well fit within your budget (if you can find a seller). That said you will then be restricted to playing Japanese (or multi) region Blu-ray Disc movies (and DVDs). Most (read as a high majority with one or two exceptions across the entire back catalogue) of Blu-ray Disc-based game titles are completely region free.

Increase your budget by just £20 & you will find that you will fall within the current average market price for a UK/European 60Gb model (that also offers you PS2 title backward compatibility across, again, a majority of, the PAL region back catalogue).

Original PlayStation (PS1) PAL region CD-ROM titles are playable in all PAL territory PS3 consoles (to date).

hi there. i have a 60gb UK PS3 ( one which plays PS2 & PS1 games & has the extra USB ports & card reader) It comes wth original box & will be supplied with official sony six-axis wireless controller , manuals, power lead, usb controller lead & tv connection lead).

the console was taken to consolefix where they have supplied a new motherboard just under a week ago. (Instead of doing the cheap heat-gun fix method).

Will supply that receipt with console too & can do it for £160 delivered if thats any good to you? thanks

Thanks for that, i have missed out in a few cracking deals in the last few weeks, within this price range, i have been watching some on ebay too.

If i cant get one for my budget then i would be better off ordering one from very, littlewoods, great universals etc using a code and get a brand new one

Interested, how olds it ? whats the warranty situation ? ever had any problems with it ?

it would be at least a couple of years old very light use mainly a region A blu ray player with the odd game of super stardust on psn

no warranty never had any issues whatsoever with it unlike my uk 40gb from comet which has been repaired by consolewerks or whatever they are called 4 times and counting piece of cr*&p company

has a dualshock 3 instead of the older sixaxis that would normally come with console

great condition with a few games and a blu ray to get you started :)

hi again. Well i bought it of a forum as they said it had been taking to be repaired by a shop previously, but when i took it to consolefix the guy said some of the chips were damaged on the board from the previous fix as the heat gun damaged them. so he swapped out the motherboard from a ps3 that had a faulty blu-ray drive. well only game i can get is a ps2 one thats about it. can download some demos if required. let me know. many thanks :)
