Im very interested and willing to pay your asking price, but would like to see picture first. Is it boxed with all accessories? Has it been registered with Sony for the warranty?

I assume you mean Gran Turisimo 5. Is that the prologue version or the new release?

Would you be willing to either post first or come to some arrangement whereby I pay half up front, half after? I have done this before and always pay promptly as soon as the goods are for sale.

Also what is your reason for selling if you don't mind me asking?

Apologies for all the questions but I like to know exactly what I'm getting when making a purchase involving a large amount of money.

Thanks.

Id do that but £200 ?

I'm based in Durham, so collection, which would have been preferable, might be problematic. (If you travel to Leeds at all I could possibly meet you as I work there once a week.)

£200 delivered?

I would meet you today, as I'm going down for about 5:30 (as I do every Monday) but I won't be able to get to a bank to transfer the funds from my savings account to my current account in order to pay in Cash. I would be happy to meet and pay via PayPal Gift if you would like? Or if its too much of a hassle we could come to some arrangement regarding delivery.

Thanks for taking the photographs for me.

If that's ok, it would be a lot more convenient, due to the way I work my finances.

Yes thats fine do you want to pay it now or do you have a phone that can make the payment when i deliver it ?

I have a 3G enabled smartphone, so I'm able to make the payment when you deliver but I'm happy to give you a £20 deposit now, to give you security that I'm definitely going to show up.

Yes that would be perfect ill pm you with my paypal email address, and if you can send me an address or post code of were you want me to meet you and what time.

Ok, that's fine. I'll find a convenient service station on the M1 as that way you won't have to navigate the Leeds rush hour traffic.

Thanks.

PS. Sorry for the intrusion (& the forced “bump” in the trade listing summary).

I pointed Josh to this thread because I knew he was looking for a PS3 320GB console.

I would just like to say that I can vouch for his honesty (from past trading with myself) & he will make payment.

However, the reason for my comment now is that I would like to say that it is not advisable to pay by PayPal when collecting in person. The PayPal “as Gift” option was introduced to exchange funds between family members (& parties previous known to each other). In the event of a dispute, PayPal will not take the side of either party.

In the case of PayPal payment when collection in person has been arranged, if the buyer were of a certain mindset, he/she could collect the item then return home & place a PayPal dispute claim against the seller for non-delivery. The seller would not have any proof of despatch (of course) & PayPal would refund the funds to the buyer.

As I said, Josh is a respected trader (here as well as other forums that I am also a member of) so this will not be the case here; just a point for future trading.

In any transaction in person of a substantial value, I would recommend preparing a piece of paper (typed, or handwritten) stating the terms of the sale (including as much detail about buyer & seller as has been gained), as well as the date & price paid. Both buyer & seller should sign this at exchange of funds/goods.

In the event of a dispute later this may prove invaluable.

Learning that this is the 320GB "Gran Turismo 5" bundle has made me wish I had not pointed Josh here at all & offered a payment myself! :)

Good luck & happy trading to both of you.

BFN,

fp.

Thanks fanpages,

Advice appreciated, I too would prefer not to pay via PayPal for a transaction invloving meeting in person, unfortunately on this occasion I can't see another way around the problem!

I have provided Scott160592 with my full contact details, including home address and phone number for security purposes and have asked for details in exchange.

@Scott160592

If possible, would I be able to see a picture of the console working, so a picture of a TV displaying the PlayStation 3 XMB Homescreen for example as I obviously won't be able to test it when we meet.

Thanks.

Thanks for those. :)

(I now see the reason you didn't get on with Gran Turismo 5, you kept on crashing due to taking your eyes off the road; the result of some slightly distracting pictures behind your TV ;))
