thanks zish....your a star

The HDD works great but didnt solve my problem......got another pc now and just need to upgrade the ram and cpu to get it working smoothly

That's a socket A board, you can't get higher than a 3200+ chip, and to buy a 3200 chip your are looking at £60+

Be cheaper to scrap the lot and buy a AM2 board and CPU.

Hi Zeus, I've got a amd 64 3000+ £10 if you can get hold of a socket 939 board.
#12
I have 1x 1gig DDR3200 stick available.
Bought as I was going to build a file server but too lazy.
After £10 for it if you're interested?

Is an Athlon XP 3000+ any good to you? It's this one: http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/K7/AMD-Athlon%20XP%203000+%20-%20AXDA3000DKV4E.html

It's a while since I built that system, but from what I remember the 3200+ are hard to come by.
#21
Price. Just looking for something faster...and i wont be paying £50 for the 3200+ :)
#22
£17 delivered? Not entirely sure what it's worth really so I'm just using eBay as a guide, there's on going on there for £17.50 at the moment but there are 6 days left on it, so I assume go for a fair bit more.
#23

Not terribly keen on posting first, but if we can agree on £16 to cover the cost of doing it by Recorded Delivery though then that should be okay.

I have a 3200+ stuck on a mobo in a static bag in my computer bits box, didn't realise it was worth £60!

I offered the pair to someone on here for £25 and they declined :whistling:

I have an athlon xp2000+ if you want to consider that?

be careful with what your getting when buying a 3200+ because you can get a cheaper chip with the l2 bridges 'pencilled in' to alter the l2 cache amount turning the 'thoroughbred' chip into a 'barton' chip
