Okay, so this is a Sahara 2100 projector with a working bulb with a good number of hours left on it. I am a teacher and nabbed this when we were upgrading for a knock-down price from the LEA. It's had 1500 hours use, logic would suggest that there's a good 500 hours left on the bulb if not more. The Saharas usually went around the 2000-2500 hours mark. I've upgraded twice since this developed a fault, and i've just dug this out of the attic in preparation to move.
The fault- I noticed the usual yellowing of the lens and decided to take the unit apart. I'm pretty good with electronics, but must have put it back together incorrectly; the culprit would be most likely to be a flat cable not having been plugged back into the PCB connector properly. The result is that the projector starts up fine but just shows a blank screen of light. Any other problems and you'd be unlikely to get the light coming out of the projector. It's certainly fixable- take it apart, plug it all back together correctly- but your cheapest option would be to pick up a Sahara 2100 without a bulb on eBay cheaply and slot this bulb into it. You'll get one for a couple of quid usually with £5 or so delivery; it's a good projector to use like this as all of the controls are on the top of the unit, so you don't need a remote.
NB this projector comes with a kettle lead but no remote. Price is £25 delivered, or £15 delivered if you just want the bulb.
