HI, I'm not sure, I sold my 360 before that upgrade came out. But I used this to flash mines with the older version as my onboard sata would'nt work.

There are lots of tutorials available for it via google.

The hardest part I found was opening the console in the fist place. ITs then just a cas3e of following one of the many tutorials.

If you go step by step it shouldnt be a problem, just done try and rush it and miss any steps.

The only thing to bear in mind with the Hitachi drives is you need to restore the firmware before flashing. The two main tools for Hitachi (DVD Firmware Toolbox and JungleFlasher) both have options to recover the original firmware.

well its a pci card...so i plugged it in to a family members pci slot (as im in london at the moment looking at moving here, thus not tested in my PC), and it wasnt recognise, literally nothing, so i took out his soundcard as i knew that pci slot works, but still nothing, even tried manually installing it but no luck, nothing!

Well PCI cards are plug and play and should at least show up in Device Manager...

If you're getting nothing at all then it doesn't sound too good...

Have you another machine to check it on, just in case it's the OS?

well i fail to see how it could be the OS...as the card works on XP, and the PC was XP. ;-)

was your fault for touching it without wearing an anti ESD wrist strap and standing on a grounding mat.

(just joking but it could well have been that..)

and prove i wasnt :p

I actually usually only handle stuff like with my hand in the anti-static bags as a glove! :-D
Just for extra insurance;-)

Meaning the installation of XP could be at fault. A really unlikely chance but a chance nonetheless.

Get another PCI card and install it (one that hasn't had the drivers installed). See if Device Manager detects the new hardware.

Well why i am away from my box of crap in another city i have no way of doing that unless i buy something...which then is just backwards!
Well i doubt the copy of windows is kaput to be honest, as you said yourself really unlikely.
