As the title says this is slightly damaged but still perfectly working Apple iBook G4, running at 1Ghz with an 80Gb HDD, 512Mb RAM, combo drive and 14" screen.

The damage is two-fold.....

First the casing around the screen has come away, this does not affect the functionality of the machine in any way and the actual screen is in perfect condition. I think this will be an easy fix for someone in the know as I think the clips holding the two parts of the case (front and back) have probably snapped, but I have no tools in order to take it apart to look and see.

Secondly, the 'N' key has come off, the actual pad still works and you can still type an N without the key but I can't get it back on! I still have the key and I'm not too sure whether anything is broken on it or not, I just don't wanna try and force it back at the risk of completely wrecking it and the pad!

It will be boxed with Charger and original MAC OSX 10.4 install/backup discs. I also have a copy of MAC OSX 10.2 which I will throw in.

I can either restore it to factory settings or leave everything (personal docs obviously removed!) as is to include some nice bits of software (MS Office/iLife 08/Toast/etc) but these are testers only as I'm keeping the originals for my new iMac!

I have seen these go on eBay with completely broken screens for silly money (£250-£300), so please don't insult me with daft offers. I love a good game of 'barter for a good deal' (as I'm sure some of you know!) but I'm not in any rush to get rid of it so will not entertain silly-ness!

I'm looking for about £375 to include postage, either by BT or paypal (add fees!). I'm at work at the moment so will get piccies up ASAP! If you see anything that shows my price as being crazy please post me a link and we'll talk!

Cheers

A bit of constructive criticism here... PowerBook G4s (12") go for £400 in mint/as new condition, £375? I think that's extremely ambitious for a damaged item, £200 would be more realistic unless you fixed it yourself.

Thanks for that! I think that I'm not too far out though, as I said, I saw a same spec but no screen go for £250 on ebay a few days ago. Maybe a downward readjustment to about £320-330...

Are you interested, by the way? £200 is a bit too low, but start making your way up a bit and we can talk :)

I'll give it a few days then whack it on ebay and take my chances there!

Cheers

£200 is what I would offer, don't want to go up as the PowerBooks can go for as little as £340 or so. No worries!

How about £240 plus postage and fees?

Again, wouldn't want to go any higher and I'm more tempted by a great condition PowerBook right now.

OK no worries! Mods, can you close this please, gonna give it a whirl on ebay!

Thanks
