Hi guys;
I have a new (manufacturer sealed) ASUS X5DC laptop for sale.

I received it with my mobile phone contract as a freebie. It was the laptop, a tv, xbox or Wii. Apart from a TV which would be a pain to ship, I thought this would get the best return.
Obviously I don't need a laptop; the one I'm typing on is more than adequate. So the Asus is up for grabs as I need the pennies for Christmas!!

One of my work colleagues will be putting some photos of the box with date etc on Monday for me as I can't post pictures from home. My SD card reader has gone missing! (Not in the wife's make up bag this time)

This is the info on the phone website for the laptop:

Asus X5DC
The Asus X5DC laptop comes bundled with the latest operating system from Windows – Windows 7. Experience a smarter, faster and more fun way to enjoy your laptop with Windows 7!

The Asus X5DC can be enjoyed in many ways – work or play! View and hear in style, with the 15.6 inch LED anti-glare display and SRS Altec Lansing speakers. The X5DC’s engine consists of a powerful Intel Celeron processor and 2GB of RAM, which runs through the stunning, brand-new Windows 7 operating system. Enjoy Wi-Fi connectivity, a DVD drive, integrated webcam, card reader and a 250GB hard drive! The Asus X5DC will suit you if you want a diverse laptop, which covers off all corners.

I'd rather do cash on collect but will accept paypal or bank transfer prior to it being delivered. I don't have a paypal account yet so when its set up I'll be requesting the small payment back and forward/email checks etc to ensure a secure transaction. Please no offers via PM, the trade dules have obviously been made for a reason. And can someone who is making an offer or asking a question please tell me what the hell a 'bump' is?
Shipping/Payment:
Shipping will be as requested and I am prepared to go halves up to say £7.50 each.

Alternatively a collect is acceptable.
Location:
Bracknell

Everytime a comment is made to your thread it gets taken to the top of the "recently active listings" page, so if you make a comment to your own thread, i.e. just the word "bump" that is what you are doing. You are ownly allowed three, I think.

Thanks for the offers chaps, and thanks for the info Gooner. :)

Not keen on posting before payment I'm afraid, so sorry but no to that offer.

Mr Briggs or Gizmat; are either of you in the Berkshire region? As mentioned I'd much rather do a cash on collection sale. If so then we're very close to the bottom figure I had in mind of £230.

Unfortunately i am not living near the berkshire region, although i would be prepared to complete the transfer for £230 through paypal if that works, looking to complete quickly, does it come with a 1 year warranty? Thanks

Hi, I hadn't really thought of that; I don't think it does come with a warranty to be honest. As it was a free gift with my phone contract I can only assume that the warranty is exclusively mine (i.e. I'd have to call and give my details to have the thing collected and replaced or repaired).

It will have a manufacturer limited warranty.

Question is whether it can be transferred. You'd need to check with Asus.

Thanks for that.

Looking at the site; its only with a valid proof of purchase. Given that the laptop was supplied as a free gift with the contract purchase and as that is a contract agreement in my name (i.e. not strictly a shop receipt) I would make the assumption that it is not going to be transferable.

Not necessarily. The delivery slip may be enough. I sold my HTC phone which I got on contract, and HTC transferred the warranty to the buyer using the Delivery slip (which showed £0.00) as proof of purchase.

Hi Philby, I might just be interested in this and I live near Bracknell to boot too so could always arrange to meet up!

Just to clarify - in your description yuo say it has 2GB ram but on amazon it says the x5dc has 3gb ram in it - are you sure yours doesn't have 3GB?

Thank you for that. I do have a shipment slip from the supplier so its quite possible you are right.

Thanks; I think that's why the site recommends all of the email, paypal home phone line checks. Its so that people who post a sale item for the first time have the opportunity to sell with security.

Gizmat, offer accepted; I have pm'd you my email and phone number.
