Sony PS3 (Has suffered YLOD problem) "40GB" £50.00

Selling what once was a working 40GB PS3 unit, until it suffered the notorious YLOD problem.

As sensitive/personal information was stored on the hard drive at the time of the failure, this has been removed; so please bare this in mind.

It comes 'as is' - as you see in the picture - just the unit, which is sold for somebody who knows what they're doing to try and fix it, or indeed for spares/repairs, if it is that you wished to strip it down instead. There are no leads, pads or anything else included (although I may be able to find a suitable power lead if I rummage around enough); but otherwise count this as being without anything but itself.

A suitable power lead has now been found, so will also be included as part of the item

Shipping/Payment:
Payment to be made via PayPal GIFT (Bank Transfer is available, if required). Item will be sent via courier (included in the price).

Hi,

I can offer £35 delivered.

That's a bit under what I was after for it really; especially as i'm aware that it could potentially be stripped for parts and those sold for a combined total of more than asking, or close enough, anyway.

I'm willing to drop, but was still hoping for offers in the £40-£50 price bracket, really.. will keep yours in mind for now, bud! (unless of course you wish to improve on your offer, by all means..) :)

racso888
Do you have any ps3 games?

Not for sale at the moment bud, no. I have four PS1 games, which can obviously be played on the PS3, for sale instead though.. (Micro Machines V3, Lego Racers, Rollcage and LMA Manager (99/00))

Tempting, but it appears possible it'd incur more likely damage and harm than actual good (even if it did miraculously 'fix' itself, temporarily); so i'll pass on that one.

Has the warranty Sticker been removed ?

Yes, it has by the looks of things. Although the unit is over 2 years old, anyway..

It looks like it has? Have you owned it from new?

As good as. The previous owner had it in their posession for a week from new before they sold it to me. As I say, this was more than 2 years ago now.

Yes, would accept £45 delivered.. Not too sure what you mean by 'is YLOD the only problem?', though? :)

Experience to date has been that we attempted to turn it on to use it, it went green light, double-beeped and yellow/red light, then flashing red light; which I believe is the 'classic' YLOD symptoms. I do not posess the required skills or know-how to be able to fix it myself. Let alone diagnose the source of the YLOD cause, or likelyhood of a fix, either.

Have now had an offer on the table of £45, bud..

I said in the OP that I would rummage around and try to find one; as luck would have it, I have - so it now comes with a power lead..

Very tempted, bud.. you wouldn't fancy throwing in an extra quid or two, just to purely help with courier cost, would you, though? ..or is £42 you absolute limit? How would say, £43.50 sit with you? :)

I managed to find a suitable power lead for it, although it's not the original power lead.

It's without it's original box, although it will be packed safely and securely in a strong box when packed up, anyway.

Let me know your final thoughts/offer[s]..? :)

..i'll deal with you on it at £42, if you're still interested, bud?

Will get back to you on that one - nearest C+ store isn't that close-by for me to get to, and would be relying on public transport to do so; so courier is obviously more convenient in that respect to me, but the few extra £'s in costs would need to be covered at the same time, too if using that method :)

..Have reconsidered, and i'll deal with you on it at £40, via Collect+, if you're still interested, bud?
