We wll have to await the outcome now I guess....good luck!
#21
Dinosteveus sent you a pm
#22
good luck guys, hope one of you gets it
#23
His address is false:-
Linc's, Leicestershire

Lincolnshire is NOT Leicestershire.
The name is not on the Electroral Roll for Lincs or Leicester.
Not in BT, 192.com or Yell.com.

I'm still looking.
#24
His email address is no longer on Paypal. He added it to receive these payments then removed it once he had his money.
#25
djnaff I hope you don't mind me replying to your PM on here.

djnaff and anybody else that has been scammed.
You must all file a Paypal dispute NOW and escalate it straight away.
If anybody funded the Paypal payment with a credit card you need to contact them first thing in the morning and see if they will chargeback Paypal.

I cannot see any money being in the scammers Paypal account, so I'm very sorry to say but you will probably get nothing from Paypal.

Shame this happened so quickly dino...before you got the scent unfortunately.
#27
djnaff, The first part of his email address has an ebay account. Funny name and quite a strange coincidence. He joined on the 26th October and is from Swansea. He bought a Sony Ericsson W800i,K750i,Z520i,Unlocking/ Unlock Cable on the day he joined. If you agree with the strange coincidence it may be an idea to contact the guy who sold it to him and have a chat. Get some details from him.

It ain't over yet. I think we may have a trace on him

The name you gave me, I have found two entries for that name in the Electoral Roll for Swansea. If this person is the same one who opened an ebay account as mentioned above and the name is the same we may have his correct address. :-D

You know what they call people from Swansea....Jacks...no disrepect intended but maybe this guy is the Jack of scamming....hope your trail gets hot dino.
#31
I think he will have used his correct name for Paypal.
#32
:-( Sorry for all the people that got scammed, am I glad I didn't stay logged on last night!
#33
At 8:53pm last night I also had a pm to say the PSP was still for sale, and this was timed after Werty had posted on the forum that he had sent his payment. Deffinately sounds dodgy to me,

Steve

No offence to those scammed but how did you think it was anything other than a scam. Surely after reading his post and seeing it was just £55 and him mentioning if it was too high a price would send alarm bells ringing. Unfortunately this will keep happening unless people wake up and learn some common sense.

Not everybody can 'see' a scam, especially on a 'friendly' board like this. :-(
Some people are far too trusting. :-(

I don't 'blame' the buyers, it's the scammers who need 'sorting' out.
If we are not careful the buyers will not post again and the scammer will get away with it. I'm sure we can find him.

I think its really nice you try your upmost to help people out steve, least theres some nice people in the world - as you get nothing in return :)

I think all the legwork that's being put in here is pointless. Surely your not going to go round to the house and kick the door in. Just file a dispute and try and get your money back through credit card/paypal.

It's all very well showing you can get all this information, but unless your going to ermmm press charges??? then I think it's daft.

No offense Steve, you obviously know your ebay/paypal information, but anyone with 'common sense' should

a) have seen it was a scam by the poor English and classic wording
b) be able to read the ebay forums like everyone else.

Syzable is totally right here. People are too willing to get something for nothing. Where was the usual sell it through ebay, etc. Everyone was too willing to rip someone off by being the fastest, etc. Anyone who is a member of HUKD or paypal would know easily how to find out the 'worth' of a psp.

Ah well, you live and learn :pirate:

I'm not going to 'kick the door in' and I don't advise anybody doing that.
Paypal will be no help and not all Credit Cards will chargeback Paypal.
The scammers name and address is needed to be able to take them to Court. Starting Court proceedings is easy and it can be done online.

Just because you and a lot of others knew this was a scam does not mean it's right or that we should just leave them to 'get on with it'. If I can help I will. What harm am I doing by trying to help?

No harm whatsoever dino....carry on the good work ..as they say "every little helps"..once the scammer's address is exposed he may just cough up to avoid further hassle.
