You need a virgin media tv subscription, the basic package is fine & you usually get it free with a phone line :)

Edit: To be a bit clearer... You don't actually use the VM box at all with this.

It used to return that you were watching sky one (before sky & vm had their fall out!) :)
#15
you dont need a tv subscription, just need the cables in the house, so you can have the broadband of VM and use this box, just to clear that up

Ebay for £74.99 delivered

Item number: 150198969138

Can't recommend this guy highly enough, very happy customer bought 4 eurovoxs off him:thumbsup:

Or £70 is you ring him to pay by card, beat that :)
#20
The tv package is free with a phone line anyway :)
#21
col are eurovox better or starview
#22
I would be careful of all these now as they are testing Nagra 2 encryption and therse boxes are not compatible. So Within maybe a year or so it will only be useful as a door stop. I use an Itgate 220 and is very good. Ebay itgate and you will see.
#23
Be very carful with this as there are many clone boxes going around. I have a real starview and paid £120 over a year ago. I have broadband and use the box on a splitter.

Look at this site for info. http://satfiles.co.uk/

Personally I go for Eurovox and would continue to do so cos I have been happy with the product.

I really do recommend the ebay guy I bought from, if you decide to go Eurovox route offer £100 (£9.99 delivery makes it £109.99 but I can honestly say its worth at least twice this and more lol

Also request splitter pack, back up software on CD, and the RS232 Serial Cable all free, so you really do get everything required for setting-up :-D

Item number: 150200172820

But like I said he does the Starview for £75 delivered so pay your money take your choice :)

BTW no chance of getting any clones or rubbish from this guy

Really am a happy customer and would look no further personally.

But people wont be so impressed if they buy one and 3 months down the line it of no use to them. I dont know if they will roll Nagra 2 in any given area next month or in 12 months time so all just be warned.

Well the eurovox has been running a long time with no real down time, but don't really see your point surely with buying this there is always an associated risk it MAY one day become practically useless

But if it doesn't or until it does I get a lot for not a lot :gift:

Well spotted

In eurovox item posted by myself it says:

Core Max V software completely redesigned from ground up, giving
huge flexibility for new functions as well as future CAM compatibility such as Nagra2

:-D
#29
As long as its Nagra2 compatable you will be ok. I chose the Itgate box mainly because of the component out which provides a better picture than anybox I have used and also for the usb pvr recording function. They also have great support from satkings.org.

any links for this nagra box?

i may go for starview 2
