We have had some recent hatching's of our insects from our adult incubated eggs.

We cannot keep them all due to space, they are from fertilized eggs so male and females are available.
My children are selling these to raise funds for their current insects and also some pocket money for their holiday later this year.

These insects are gentle and dont bite or pinch they are great for children and fairly inexpensive to look after and set up.
Adult size is approx 10cm female and 9cm for male

They eat mostly bramble but also like rose and eucalyptus, we have also tried them on damson in the summer and they eat this also.

They live in either a glass or plastic tank with ventilation or a cage with fly netting on it. you can buy pop up variant's (seen on ebay).

They require a spray of water each day maybe two in summer and happily live at room temperature away from direct sunlight.

We would like to sell for 75p each and postage on top please , pet smart sell the common Indian ones for £4 each so we think we are offering fairly.
we will offer any support needed to new keepers on these.

we will post but only in a humanly kind way and only during Monday to Wednesday so they arrive during normal week. we also welcome collection from chatham kent.
Shipping/Payment:
collection from chatham Kent

or postage to be confirmed depending on number of insects and size of container Special delivery only so that they are delivered quickly

You need to check the URL thats given when host a file, as sometimes you end up with 'HTTP://' entered twice, or the HTTP part has the colon in wrong place or something, as was case with you.

Hope this helps anyway, cheers!

hi i have had insects posted to me before and they came in a punnet type container ( or similar size) with ventilation holes and plenty of food wrapped in brown paper and marked fragile don't shake or squash .

If sent special delivery over next day service and wrapped in brown paper they would arrive fairly well. i would of course send an extra couple to compensate for any deaths but i doubt it would happen as these are very hardy insects.

any tank glass or plastic will be ok for them as long as you can put ventilation in the top. i will take a picture of ours for you .

we also made a cage from some 1" x 2" timber untreated and some fly mesh which is available from ebay for quite cheap . i will send you a link .

300306510579 ebay item number.
i brought from this bloke before there is loads of netting so will make a nice size cage with plenty for repairs also we use it for tops of tanks cutting out the middle of the plastic and replacing with netting.

thanks , posting is fine as they have tiny claws which hang onto sticks very well and they hang upside down a lot also, i have also brought stick insects before via post and they were fine except the once a man from Germany posted me some and i was appalled by it when they arrived almost a week and a half after posting he had packed them up to 10 at a time into petri dishes with no air and one leaf . sad to say most were DOA and i was glad my children were not home at the time to witness it.

just goes to say how some people will send to cut costs and devoid of all humanity , even if they are just insects.

Hi, really interested as my daughter is desperate to have a pet, but know nothing about these at all.

How many do you have for sale? How many would you suggest to start with? We have a former fish tank ( R.I.P Bob ) approx 2' x 1' that hopefully will suffice as a starter home.

How big are the little ones?

Thanks

Hi neilc
The tank you have will be more than adequate to home quite a few, but although they are currently small they will reach around 10cm each in length so this should be considered. there maybe some fatalitys which is not rare with insects but these are very hardy and easy to care for.

If you can provide bramble in good supply with option of rose also along with a spray of water and some tlc they should give you much pleasure.

They dont require heat only room temperature and dont require any additional lighting.

They will live up to 2 yrs and will lay eggs quite often when adult, if females are kept with male the eggs will be fertilized and then the new hatch will be of both sexes.

To start with i would take around 20/25 small ones and if you wanted anymore after getting used to them we could agree to another sale.

oh forgot to say the tank will need to be secure but ventilated so they dont escape, but as they are harmless if they escape they only end up 9/10 times on the ceiling.!

Hi Katya, many thanks for the great advice.

Hopefully we can cope with those demands.

Brambles and roses are plentiful so food shouldn't be a problem.

My daughter has only £17 in her purse ( bad dad me just checked whilst she is ouu playing! ) so I would appreciate as many as you can spare for that amount including postage.

Please pm me with payment details, thanks, neil

hiya, postage will be the same for any amount upto around 30 of them as they dont weigh much, so i estimate £5.50 with next day delivery so i can sell you 16 of them all in with postage for the £17. i will add extra to allow for any DOA you may have and to be good seller.

if this is ok how would you like to pay ? i wuld prefer BACS(as would allow me access to funds for postage) but will take paypal gift if preffered.

Hi Katya, many thanks, payment sent.
