EDIT: My link was to the Canon version, so removed

Where are you based?

Am I right in thinking this will auto focus with a D60?

Out of interest, what have you upgraded to?
#3
Based on the above, I will offer £100 if you post first, thanks

Just to say, my original link (removed) was to the Canon version - only realised after posting. Can't find the Nikon at that price though.

Sorry OP

interested in any trades?
I ordered one of these lenses from a supplier (for my D40) and they sent a none A/F version, I don't have the free cash until I return the lens :(
but I am 100% interested if you're interested in any kind of trades?

No thanks mate - it'll have to be a lot closer to £150. This is immaculate and you are not going to get this lens for less than what i'm asking.
#20
Okay thanks then - can't go that high.

Errr..... the lens model in the amazon link i have added in my OP is "TAMRON Aspherical [IF] MACRO AF 18-200mm F/3.5-6.3 XR Di II LD".

The model of the post that you have just added which you claim is different is "Tamron AF 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 XR Di-II LD (IF) MACRO".

Other than the numbers and figures being in different places these two are exactly the same. Correct me if i'm wrong.

Also, yes the lens may have BEEN £150 (now higher due to the weak pound methinks) but i wont lower my asking price unless you find me a currently competitive price. I think £150 is reasonable and if you treat me nice i can deffo knock a few quid off. i think that is fair. :-)

If you dont care for research.....

"Compact, high power zoom lens designed for digital SLR cameras with an APS-C sized sensor. 35mm equivalent focal length of 28-300mm. 45cm close focus across the zoom range. 62mm filter thread. Macro magnification ratio of 1:3.7. Nikon fit version now has a built in AF motor so is compatible with the Nikon D40 / D40x digital SLR cameras. "

Yes. Tamron updated its 18-200 and 18-250 in August with models with focus motors in the lens that will work with the D40.

Via Tamron's website:

August, 2008

Compatibility with Nikon D40, D40X, D60

Please note that these new cameras do not provide mechanical linkage to the lens gearing for Auto Focus and require that the lens have its own motor to operate the auto focus system. Tamron is currently transitioning the focus system in our lens line to work with this new system. We designate these lenses as BIM (Built-In Motor) and the Nikon mount version has NII stated in the model number. The following Tamron lenses have the new motor and are readily available:

SP AF17-50mm Di II (model A16NII)
AF18-200mm Di II (model A14NII)
AF18-250mm Di II (model A18NII)
SP AF28-75mm Di (model A09NII)
AF28-300mm VC Di (model A20Nii)
AF70-300mm Di (model A17NII)
SP AF70-200mm Di (model A001NII)

So this does Autofocus with the D40/D40x/D60 range?

I am interested in making an offer, but I live in Cheshire so collection is out of the question. If you would consider posting first I would consider this, please check out my feedback on here (FS/FT 93 100% positive) or on eBay under the same user name (andimccann 500+ 100% positive).

Yes this has an internal focusing motor. I have managed it with my D40 so i am sure of it! :-)

Although i am a HUKD virgin, i have 690, 100% feedback on ebay "avfcuk". I will not take the risk of sending first.. i am a tradionalist so its money first, goods later.
