is fitting ram to one of these imacs easy to do? i didnt think it was, at least not easily like a pc.
#5
easier than a pc as it happens

A small screw is undone under the screen, you pull a tab and the ram falls out. Push the new ram back in, replace the screw, job done. Yes easier than a PC :)

I know that shane. :thumbsup::thumbsup:

I am genuinely interested in this, but not at this price, as stated I can get one brand new with full warranty cheaper. If the seller drops his price I'd snap his hands off on this!

if you can get one brand new cheaperwhy not buy it?
this is an unfair comparison mate unless you are a student and are in higher education you cant get one for that price so most people cant .

i have tried in the past and they cancel the order which i suspect you have found as you have posted elswhere that you bought one a couple of weeks ago and you told me you already had one imac !!

even if you could get the discount the mac is not the same as mine mine has 2gb ram not 1gb (not £20 ebay ram either).
it also has a external dvd writer and a genuine windows vista premium with licence installed in dual boot .

it was bought as a christmas gift and has been used for less than 1 month and has 10 months warranty remaining
if you were to buy my imac new without commiting fraud or being lucky enough to be a student/teacherthe cheapest you would buy my mac new would be £1009.

so i think it's worth every penny of the £750 delivered im asking for it considering it only has 1 months use
hence i wont be selling for a penny less unless you arrange you own carriage
if you dont think its a good price fair enough but please stop posting incorrect information

Easy tiger...

I also told you I was in the market for a SECOND mac but couldn't afford a new one, hence me trying to get you to knock a few quid off, then came the post here with a discount I CAN use so it is a fair ask! Obviously you don't like playing the barter game (as I suspected over on AVF) so I won't post here again!

Good luck with the sale though, this is a good price for those who can't get the discount, for an absolute beauty of a piece of kit!

All the best

i did knock money off you got me down to £750 without the extras now im selling with all the extras and you want me to knock more off again !
you said you wanted a second mac if you bought this it would be your 3rd wouldnt it? seeing as you bought one using the educational discount?

what would you want to pay? and what would you want ?
#23
I'll try and explain using simple words and possibly diagrams......

I own one iMac. I want a second mac for the office. I can't afford one right now. Even with the huge discount I can get. I would like to buy yours but £750 is too steep. Your price IS a great price, but still too much for me. I was asking to see if there was a was a way down in price. You don't want to budge. End of.

WW
#24
i know what you want mate but you have posted that you have got this discount on a mac so that would mean you already have 2 wouldnt it or did the discount not work for you?
as you said it is a great price but i am open to sensible offers
how much would you pay for the imac without vista etc? i can use them with my new mac you see:)
#25
no, i posted that i have access to the discount, not that I've used it.

As a matter of interest, how's vista working out for you on the mac? Have you bootcamp'd it or parallel'd it?

Anyway I have £650 sat here for just the mac, prob not enough for you, but if you don't ask, you don't get!

i use bootcamp as it's full native support rather than virtualisation
if i accepted your offer you would have to arrange your own collection

iMacs are works of art, I have the older version, RAM that apple put in is the same kingston RAM that pops up in threads on the deals section for £25-30. Its exactly the same speed, packaging etc but you pay for the Apple service and godknows what else.

Good fair price as well, with extras that are of definite use.

Where was this mac bought from?

Is it really worth upgrading for the extra screen space?

There is quite a difference with the 20 and 24 in size, love the new ones.

Put in on eBay, you'll get a decent price or Free ads.
