I would like to buy this. Do you have an ebay account through which you can verify yourself (as this is your first post). Cheers

IMPORTANT - EVERYONE PLEASE READ

Just to inform all members on the forum that the member 'Yaz' could well be a scammer on the forum.

It was my own silly fault for not checking him out first but anyway, I purchased a game from him a few days ago. After my payment was made I have heard nothing from him, and have not recieved the item on the agreed day.

I filed an initial case with Paypal and recieved the reply 'Postage - Royal Mail - Item Status ON HOLD'

Unfortunately being an honest person myself I would like to think I could trust him, however I think I have been caught out.

I have now filed an actual claim with Paypal, and I will make sure that the matter is fully investigated until resolved.

I have sourced that he also has an Ebay account, I have a name (probably bogus), plus an email address, and I will continue to locate a postal address too.

If the seller is infact genuine then I do appologise, but I am sure everyone agrees that I have reason to be concerned.

With all my years as an Ebay seller I should have known better, but i'm sure I will get to the bottom of this :)

Sorry to say we've both been ripped off, I paid for the game and only then realised that you have also paid for it.

Have raised a dispute to Paypal as fraudulent.

As you say I should also have known better having been on Ebay for many years!

An update...

Mr. Peter Smith (Yaz) finally replied to my emails on the evening of 2nd November saying that he now cannot post the game as the Paypal status is on hold.
Considering it was agreed that the game was being posted on 31st October (and payment was in his bank account on 30th October - this was confirmed on the 30th by Mr. Smith), this seems to just be another excuse.
I replied to the email asking for his postal address and a telephone number so I can contact him to verify that he is genuine, and as of 11:30am 3rd November I have had no reply again.
In the meantime technically he still has my money.

Steve

(I have also just checked when he was last on this forum and he has not shown his face since I purchsed the game - Last Activity: 30-10-2006 20:21)

If there is trading on this forum, there needs to be some kind of feedback system.

Anyone up for beating scammers with a big stick?

Agreed
This is only a relatively small amount too, what happen's with a bigger purchase?

Surely perhaps an agreement to disclose landline phone number and address to the prospective buyer would be useful?

I'm working on catching Mr "Peter Smith", Paypal are fully investigating the matter, I have traced his ISP, and email provider, and they are now aware that he is using the internet for fraudulent activities, the matter WILL be resolved very soon I am sure.

Do you reckon paypal will actually do anything or just 'say' that they are investigating the matter?

You hear of so many people going thru all the proper channels with paypal and still the robbing barstewards get away with it, and paypal sit back on their millions of profits.

Makes me sick, hopefully paypal will surprise me this time.
Good luck

Sorry, to hear you guys had a bad experience in trading. Just to let you know not everyone is like that, I have just completed a trade with Staffiebull which has been easier in many ways than trading through ebay

I suppose the other way of doing it is to place it on ebay as a buy it now that way it makes it a bit more secure, well sort of - if there's scammers ebay wont stop them.

its such a shame, i've said this before the forum seems such a friendly place, i've only been registered a short time - its a shame people take advantage of the situation!
