Hey,

I'm selling my trusty Topfield TF5800 PVR because I've just signed up for Sky Multiroom.

It's a 250gb twin-tuner model, which can record upto 3 programmes at once (two need to be on the same mux). It has 2 CAM slots in the front, and can also be upgraded over USB with programs called TAPs. There's a big community over at http://toppy.org.uk/ and you can get programs for pretty much everything.

It is the limited edition Polar White version, and comes boxed with all its accessories.

This cost me over £200 originally, but after looking at prices on ebay, I'd let it go for £90. Collection from South Manchester preferred, but I could arrange a courier at a cost of £10.
Shipping/Payment:
Collection from South Manchester preferred.

Can post by courier for £10 extra.

with big huge dogs dangly bits! LOL

i'll have an ask around for you as i'm always raving to everyone how good it is (as you say with adding taps)

for other potential buyers, you can also record 2 channels & watch 2 at the same time  you can have 1 channel in any corner of the screen & can switch between the 2 whenever you want. great when there are loads of sports on (olympics, wimbolden) or when the missus wants to watch something so i have to watch the grand prix i the corner :( LOL

what is this
#8
Has it got HDMI or optical out?

littlehoneyz:

Basically, it is a Freeview recorder. It's twin-tuner, which means you can record two programmes, while you watch another. You can also upgrade the software on it by connecting it to your computer with a USB cable. People have made programmes for it to do stuff like Series Link (just like on Sky+).

sancho1983:

It doesn't have HDMI, but it is a good picture quality on my TV (Samsung LE32A456 HDTV). The video outputs are composite, s-video, and scart.

Yeah, it has got optical out for the sound, as well as phono.

Thanks, i'll leave then.

Definitely a bargain though, would like to upgrade to a toppy soon, but spent £120 on my humax (with no HDMI or optical, why would i need that, i don't have a HDTV or surround sound, now i do though!!)

Ok, no worries :)

Come on guys, grab yourselves a bargain!

Hi there - if you could do say £90 delivered I'll take it!

Hi,

Can you (or I, or indeed anybody), for example, hook it up to a video games console (input) & have both a TV picture (in a corner) & the video game screen displaying (full screen) concurrently?

Just having to boot-up my iPhone browser as the photos you provided are not visible behind the Corporate Firewall I'm sitting behind at present.

PS. Could you offer a quick summary of what (other) programs can be dropped into the machine via USB? I have a feeling the hyperlink you also kindly provided is likely to be blocked too.

Thanks.

BFN,

fp.

[EDIT]: I could see the site you described!

However, after reading the FAQ provided, I think I'll hold out for the later model...

What's the difference between the TF5800 and the TF5810?

The TF5810 is a new model, introduced in March 2008. It is very similar to the older TF5800 PVR but with a new casing, a larger hard drive and an HDMI port, which allows the picture to be upscaled and sent digitally to an HD Ready TV set. It also supports Freeview Playback from introduction, whereas older TF5800s require a firmware update. A more detailed comparison of the two is available here.
---

Thanks for bringing the products to my attention though.

Good luck with your sale.

BFN,

fp.
