wing island?

Never heard of it!
#8
What type of game is it?
#9
It's a flight sim. (£14.99 at argos new).

Amazon.co.uk Review:
In a nutshell:
The flight sim might be a dying breed on other consoles but the Wii's already got one to its name with Wing Island - but just as you'd expect it's not exactly your run-of-the-mill jet combat simulator.

The lowdown:
If there's one game Nintendo fans have been dying to see get a new sequel it's PilotWings and that's pretty much exactly what Hudson are providing with this game. Like PilotWings the game presents a huge range of largely laid back missions for you to dabble in, from photographing flocks of birds to air dropping medicine crates. There are a few combat missions, but even these tend to be non violent, such as popping balloons or blowing up rock formations. The Wii Remote is great for controlling your flying machine of choice, with the controller being held something like a joystick, with the pointer aimed at the screen. Barrel rolls and the loop-the-loops are simply a matter of flicking your wrist in the right direction and fun enough that just flying around the large levels is perfectly entertaining on its own.
Most exciting moment:
Although most of the missions have you flying a single aircraft some of them put you in charge of a whole formation of five aeroplanes. The controls are the same but tight turns and manoeuvres in enclosed spaces become that much more difficult - and exciting.
Since you ask:
Developer Hudson Soft, creator of the long-runing Bomberman series, are one of the most prolific early supporters of the Wii, with more then seven titles already scheduled. They're also working with Nintendo on a new entry in the popular Mario Party franchise for Wii.
The bottom line:
PilotWings returns in all but name with the Wii's first flight sim.- HARRISON DENT

Manufacturer's Description:
In Wing Island if you want to experience the aerial tilts and spills of being a prop pilot, all you have to do is tilt the Wii remote left and right to bank your biplane, move down to make a dive, up to swoop into the sky, and pull back or forward to brake or boost.
Story mode allows players to take on a series of challenging missions at the controls of a single plane or a formation of five; switching formation via simple Wii remote movements. It is also possible to win prizes by completing missions and earn money to upgrade planes. Wing Island features many different missions including the dropping goods, putting out forest fires and taking photos of objects. The missions can be cleared in different completion levels depending on time, accuracy, and damage taken by planes. In total there are 27 different missions.

This game has a consistant pleasent feel to it throughout. The missions are not thrilling or scary or anything, just pleasent and quite often infuriating. It is a good game, very fun and quite addictive.

Avg rating 4/5.
