If the seagate is slimmer like the IDE versions it will cost £1.85 2nd class if under 500g (mine weighs 384g) , so let me know if you'll move a bit.

Don't really need it, just thought I I'd put my OS on a separate drive when I found the time. Thanks either way

Seagate Baracuda 7200.7 3.5” SATA – 40GB - £8
ST340014AS
Western Digital WD400 3.5” IDE – 40GB - £8
WD400BB-71DGA0

Are these two for a laptop or PC ? Also, do I just 'plug n play' once in my PC ?

What is the difference between SATA and IDE ? Is it just the connection ?

As you will tell I am not a PC nerd...:-D

3.5" are desktop drives, 2.5" are latop. Yes ide and sata have different connectors - you'll need to know which your computer will support, or you can get adaptors - SATA are the newer format and generally faster so unless you have an older PC, it's not likely to be ide. Its not always as simple as plug and play - you'll need the right cables and know how to get the drive recognised etc. It's not difficult though.
