yes it has been used, but only with the termostatic sensor that sits under the CPU (two little leads that have to be un between the pins on the CPU between the CPU and the socket). It was not whisper quiet I would say under full load on an old Athlon 3200, but was quiet when running "normal" loads.

I havent used it for about six months.
