Taking advice given on sites like autotrader - they say to use something like paypal or BACS as it's safer. If taking cash make sure it's paid in whilst in the company of the buyer in case of fake notes. New to the car selling game you see......

Just an observation, but it might help if you told us the engine size and whether it's a petrol, diesel or dualfuel car.

If you have no luck on here, try Gumtree, i sold a car on there the other day, within 2 hours of putting it up. It's free as well

Thanks for that, I'll definitely take a look if no-one on here is interested

To be honest I'd think again about using paypal for an amount as large as this. If you sell at the asking price paypal would take about £120 as their commission! You can always just take a cheque or BACS payment and release the car on the funds clearing (although in the case make sure it has cleared for certain rather than just your bank letting you draw the money out).

It would even be cheaper for you to pay for the buyer to do a CHAPS payment which is about £30 I think plus you'd be able to get your hands on the money straight away rather than waiting for paypal to transfer it.

I'd also recommend gumtree as that is where I recently sold a car and as mentioned before as it is free you've nothing to lose. If you do make sure you put it on all the cities that are anywhere near you and re-submit it every couple of days so it stays near the top.

Also might be a good idea to state what trim it is.

Thanks to all for some really good advice, how would I set up a BACS payment?

Also..

I had mine up for sale on pistonheads, autotrader, and 2 honda type r forums and i had some interest but on sunday i put my car on ebay....within 4 hours i had 3 watchers, 1 bid and 2 questions from people. One was wanting to pay the asking price !! SOLD with cash on collection.

So i would recommend ebay....

I had initially thought of trying Ebay but a car very similar to ours has re-listed a couple of times with no bids. I 'll probably take another look & thanks again for all of the positive input.

Gumtree. Took the advice of others that posted as I'd never heard of it. I did click expire for this posting on HD but hasn't been removed so not sure if I did it properly as I'm still able to post on it  Pretty useless at reading instructions fully :p

You must not list your items for sale or trade here if they're listed elsewhere online and also applies where you have more than one of the same item to offer. If you decided to sell elsewhere online this thread should have been closed.

Thread closed and infraction issued.
