Saxo, you'd definitely get more people interested in this phone if you could say it was already unlocked before your sale,so it might be worth doing that.

Good luck with it anyway.

http://nokiafree.org should help you to unlock it for free!! :D

Saxo, I've edited out your imei number.... should not be public knowledge I think!
#6
lol why is that emma? no one can do anything with it...eerrrr i think :(

Just type your imei in the unlocker, make sure you have chosen the model number correct, if it does not have the i version listed just us the Nokia 6230, this will be ok.

Make sure you chose the correct network and make sure you are using DCT4 unlocker.

In the GEN box you should have it at ASIC6 and press the get codes button.

You will be given a list of seven codes, always use code number 7 first.

Next remove the sim from your phone and put the battery back in and power it up. Then enter the code exactly as it shows.

To get the hash and P W letters use the * key and it changes from one to the other.

When ypu have entered the final hash of the code it show tell you phone restriction off or something similar, now you can use it for any sim.

I hope this was clear, remember you only get 5 attempts so make sure the iemi number is typed in correct and the codes.

If code seven does not work then try code 1 next. If oyu are still unsure PM me.

I'm not 100% sure... but I removed it just in case, after all, it is your personal information.

Sorry Saxo but it was me that reported your post and asked for the imei number to be removed.
I may be wrong and if I am I'm sorry but I'm sure all you need to block/lock a mobile is the IMEI number and the network. You provided both.

Somebody may think it 'funny' to get your phone locked.

HDUK has a lot of lurkers.

Yes one word of warning, never give out your imei number over a public forum.
#11
oh i have learnt something new today lol thanks guys

but im sure were all friends on here (group hug !!)

It's more of a problem where people who have stolen a phone which has been blocked by the network can illegally use your IMEI to change the stolen IMEI number to so they can use the phone again. Not very good...

Thats where im getting confused matey, it has 2 options for unlocking either virgin 23430 ................

its ok now iv done it 4 times now and its not worked, so i just called virgin and there sending me the code out PHEW !!!! :-D

Ok mate, sorry it did not work for you, I have a 6230 and have had 3 of these and one 6230i, all which I bought and sold on and every one I unlocked using the Nokia free calculator.

I have just had a quick browse through their forums after a long time away from them and it seems that a few people have had trouble unlocking the 6230i, I must have been just lucky on the model I received for it to unlock first time.

But then again, if you know what your looking for things seem to come easy even though when I was putting the codes in I was always crossing my fingers, many other phones have took me 2,3 even 4 attempts to unlock them.

By that time I was thinking I was doomed. I have only ever had two Nokias that would not unlock using this method, one the Nokia 1110 or something, that cheap thing that cost just £20, and a nokia 3330 also failed to unlock in the past.

But these things happen, it does not alter your phone in any way, it just means after your five attemtps you have to take it to a market stall or a mobile phone shop and pay £10 or whatever they charge to use their clip to unlock it.

But your phone still works as normalifi you don't get it unlocked so for anyone wanting to use this method, please don't be scared. It does not damge or alter your phone, it just means that you can't unlock it yourself if you have failed in all five attempts. You can still use it on it's original network as normal until you use a clip to unlock it.

I hope I am making sense as I have just come back from the pub. :)

Posting the IMEI is dangerous? Nonsense.
#21
Not really dangerous to you, but it's possible that people in other countries could unblock their phones (or people in this country could do it illegally) using your IMEI. You'll probably never know, but this kind of thing hampers any chances of authorities blocking mobiles if it happens.
