I have an unused genuine Retail Vista Ultimate 32/64 bit product key.

You will just need a vista dvd to install, any version of the dvd will work.

Then just use this genuine unused key, and you will have a fully genuine windows vista ultimate.

Looking for £30 for the key.

Em, I'm not that sure about giving the key out for nothing, as then you have the key and that could be it.

I do have some feedback here, and I would be prepared to do half now, half after you have used it

Usually when a licence is sold, the product key is printed somewhere - on a licence certificate, OEM sticker or similar. And that leads to the second question about the source.

Do you have the CoA sticker to go with the key - I thought that was necessary for Microsoft's EULA....?

Where is the key from?

I had bought vista ultimate from the shops, and I purchased an additional product license code from microsoft for my friend, but his computer came with vista anyway so he didnt need it, so therefore i have a spare vista ultimate unused product key

Adding some questions from me too...

How do you know it's unused & genuine?

Some proof for all the above would be useful.

For 'added' genuineness, I'd prefer the printed version of the key.

Edit: Can you provide proof of this purchase please?

To be honest I can't actually provide any proof. I havent got anything really, I've just took a note of the product key.

The proof you have, is when you use it and successfully activate your copy of vista via microsofts servers. Thats all there is really.

Because of this I'm willing to take a deposit of £10 or something like that (if you have good feedback), and then hopefully your genuine and when it all works you will pay the rest.

Where did you buy the additional product license from? Do you have the URL for the Microsoft site where you purchased it?

I was under the impression additional licenses were available for same-household use but otherwise you would need the full retail edition (and CoA).

I was certainly under the impression that any Vista license would include a CoA (the code itself could, for example, easily be stolen from a shop or somewhere similar where stock copies of the OS are held, without the CoA there is no proof of ownership...)

Thinking you would have paid with a credit/debit card, & received the key in an email at the very least? The card statement &/or email will provide the proof

Whats to say you didn't walk into a store and look at the back of a computer and copy the code?
#13
Was it purchased from here?

The Windows Vista Additional License program is available to customers in supported regions who have purchased full or upgrade Windows Vista product preinstalled or in a retail box. Licenses may be purchased online only. Customers may purchase up to five additional licenses to install the same edition of Windows Vista on other computers they own. The price for the product excludes all taxes. You are responsible for any taxes that you are obligated to pay or that we may collect from you. Currency exchange settlements are based on your agreement with your payment method provider. Customers must use the additional licenses on computers they own. Offer may be discontinued at any time. Software licenses purchased through electronic transmission online or over the Internet are not eligible for a refund. View Microsoft's Retail Product Refund Guidelines.

That would be an OEM licence - OP is selling the Retail version.

I'm selling this cheap enough, someone will get a valid vista ultimate key for very cheap.

If I had just got it off a computer its not going to activate when you try activating it through microsoft is it. Or if it did, everyone would just do that and get a code of a computer in a shop.
This will definatly activate and you will have a genuine vista.

Key only nothing else. £10 deposit and I'll send you the key, and when it works you pay the rest. If it doesnt work, I will give you a full refund

It may actually be an OEM key now you mention that, but I thought OEM was like Dell, and HP specific keys etc,

Still no conclusive proof, I'm afraid. Without this, I'm out.

It may activate but it doesn't sound like it will be legal - you would be in breach of the EULA if you use it (it sounds like its meant only for computers you (the original purchaser) own). If you purchased it from Microsoft then surely you must have evidence of that purchase - receipt/invoice/email confirming purchase etc.

If I bought this, used it and it worked fine, then the seller sold it on again (I'm not saying you would just being cautious) would it blacklist my copy of windows?

Cheers mate rep left

I'm not interested in this then, good luck with your sale dragonuk

Ok no one seems interested, price drop to £15 all in
#23
ill take it at £15

Sorry, this is just too dodgy. £15 for Vista Ultimate - its worth several times that - the seller is sidestepping valid questions about the items origins and the buyer is about to spend £15 on essentially illegal software.

I fully agree. It's also probably illegal to sell & buy this, even if genuine - see jah128's post above.

To be fair aswell a thread was locked the other day for requesting to buy just a serial key, the only difference here is that the OP is offering to sell one

All your going to get here is a serial key sent via PM, no guarantee's or anything, no come back if the serial key is re sold in two weeks time

You are not allowed to do WANTED's or For Sale's on product keys without the software. the mods closed a thread about call of duty 4 the other day
banned#28
why would you not be allowed to do product keys ?

[QUOTE=dragonuk]To be honest I can't actually provide any proof. I havent got anything really, I've just took a note of the product key.QUOTE]

It is not acceptable to sell a retail vista key with no proof of purchase or original software.
