W Golf 1.4S For sale
2001 Model
Perfect condition inside and out apart from one tiny dent in wheel arch, see in pics. Scorpian alarm/immobliser - Cost £500
62000 Miles. Full service history and receipts. Paid £600 2 weeks ago for Full service and Cambelt change (recommended at 60,000 miles). Great car to drive.
18" RS4 wheels shown in picture but these are not included. Standard golf alloy's fitted.
1.4S engine, therefore cheap insurance and running costs. Perfect for a first car.
Fully colour coded (cost £450) with Genuine VW mouldings. This car really looks the part and is easily mistaken for a much larger engine Golf.
Full electric windows, Sunroof, 6 CD Changer. Clean and perfect condition interior. You really are not going to find a Golf as good value as this!
Priced to sell, it is going to sell fast at this price.
I have spent over £8000 for the car and the upgrades.
Selling as going to Uni, so has to go for funding.

More pics..

from parkers guide

Used car valuation
Volkswagen Golf Hatchback (97-04) 1.4 S 5d
Average mileage: 50,000 miles

Original Price £12,240
Franchised Dealer £4,160
Independent Dealer £3,950
Private Good £3,700
Private Poor £3,030
Part Exchange £3,350
Just to clarify..
The standard golf as shown by the parkers details does not have the upgrades

Full colour coding. Side strips, front and back bumper mouldings from VW - £500
6 CD VW Changer £250 fitted
VW Silver handles - £100

The model shown in the parkers listing comes with black handles, black plastic bumper strips and mouldings and very basic interior.

Take a look eBay, Autoweb, Autotrader and then tell me mines overpriced.
I have experiance in cars and would say that yours is worth £3500 tops and why did you style your photos instead of ordinary ones showing the outside/interior/engine.

It would also help if you showed the car with the wheels that you are selling with it actually on the car.
Not in the slightest is it worth £3500 tops. I could list pretty much every golf of the same specification at a minimum of £4000.
The pictures i have taken for the car are show pictures that i took 2 weeks ago, they are not pictures i took to use to sell the car. So obviously i didn't take ones of the interior and engine on that day. But i going to take lots of pictures tommorow/tuesday show all aspects of the car.
More uneditted pics
As markvirgo says, I'd be surprised if you got anything near what your asking for - modifications won't hold much resale value unfortunately, the milage is also 12,000 over what Parkers quotes as the average for that year. Sorry but I wouldn't call it "priced to sell". My golf wasn't much more than your asking price bought from a garage last year and it's a 1.8 turbo gti with much higher spec. If you search google for "mkivs forum" and click the first result there is a good place to get a little advice if you don't know of the site already, you can also list for free.
Take a look eBay, Autoweb, Autotrader and then tell me mines overpriced.

Just a quick search on Autotrader and these are the results,N-10-18-41-50-54-71-110-231-4294966995-4294967159/search.action
So maybe slightly overpriced
MK 5 Golfs start from £5k and is a far better car than the mk 4.

The bits you added are a nice bonus but not worth much. The only big advantage is the wheels which you are not selling with it.
You don't even say which alloys you are selling it with as when it was new it would have come with steel wheels?
Maybe the asking price is slightly optimistic, but i definitely think it is worth £4000
Would be worth £4k with the 18" wheels,
ill swap for a 343 bhp impreza wrx,, been featured in mags super sexy,, import
Yeh, would agree with standard wheels fitted then £3.5k is probably what it's worth absolute tops.

Unfortunately it's quite common for people tend to value their own cars higher than they are actually worth......emotional & sentimental attachment etc etc

It's a 1.4 golf, no shortage of them about. You need the extras on it to keep people interested and make it more saleable. Their not going to actually add much worth to the car.

You could always "wait" for the buyer who wants your specific model and features you have to offer. There are also plenty of foolish buyers about as well.
I'll trade you Mk3 GTI Alloys all with good rubber plus cash for your rims
