I'm looking for a decent flat 19" or larger PC monitor.

Obviously it has to be in perfect working order.

I can pick up a new one for about £75 so not looking to spend too much.

The price will depend on what is offered.

Many thanks.

Prefer to collect in Lancashire but happy to pay courier fee.

I assume this is to be for your daughter?

Just be aware of the resolutions on the monitor - it may not allow you to show everything as 'big' on screen as you may want it too, instead make it smaller so you can squeeze more info on :)

a 17" CRT may be a better bet resolution wise than a 19" tft

Hi bassman, yes this is a follow on from the laptop thread, sorry to appear really dumb - any idea what kind of resolution I should be looking for?

I don't know anything about these things - as - I have properly demonstrated!

it depeends on how visually impaired your daughter is.

a 19" tft typically has a resolution of 1280x1024, whereas you may find that a resolution of 800x600 or 1024x768 would be better, as everything would be bigger on screen.

I'm not the oracle on resolutions, but know that the smaller the resolution, the bigger the info appears on screen. My parents can't swap monitors as my mom needs to have the resolution set at 800x600, and they are using a 17" crt, and it works fine. You can also adjust the settings on that to *i think* 1280x1024 for normal use

You can make everything large in windows by going into the accessibility options in xp.
Would still recommend a 19inch tft or even an old 19inch crt if you can find one.

19" widescreen runs at 1440x900, these don't scale well to other resolutions so best avaoid
a 4:3 19" tft will normally be 1280x1024 but can be run at 1024x768 for a nice size boost, trouble is 4:3 monitors are less popular so slightly more to buy.
I'm just up the road in cumbria so will keep an eye out for you.
