I'm planning on buying a Unibody Macbook and would like to upgrade the Hard Drive, from the stock drive. I'm looking for anything between 350 and 500 GB. I'm looking to spend £40 to £70 max. But I am also up for trading a stock 160GB drive and cash for the higher models I'm looking for.
I'll pay by bank transfer or paypal, whatever is easiest. I can come and collect.

be careful what you buy , read on...
good price actually
bought 400Gb for £80 & then decided to swop out my 120Gb mac-mini HD for this which was no biggie as the machines outwith warranty period
Turned out the drive height was around 12 mm rather than the standard 9 mm 2.5" laptop HD
Just a 3 mm difference but had to cut away some plastic to get it to wedge-fit .then discovered I couldn't replace all the 4 screws as the mount holes weren't aligned.. just 2 of them but secure enough.
Now blessed with a lot more internal storage space.
Anyway to get to the point if you're thinking of getting this as a cheap laptop HD upgrade , just make sure HD in the enclosure is @ the 9mm stack height & not the 12mm as some of the early 400GB drives have.. could end up saving a lot of trouble

Thanks for that information :-) What make of drive was it out of interest?

Hitachi 400GB Hard Drive..triple platter I believe
Hitachi in their haste to produce a larger than 320 Gb capacity HD in the early days , got around
technical challenges by cramming an extra platter into the drive for extra capacity hence the
extra 3mm stack height to accomodate it.
The extra 80 GB jump in storage at the time wasn't due to advances in storage technology
is the model a 2.5 inch drive. I currently have a White MacBook so would also want it to fit into that.

There you go mate 500gb western digital for £70 .... i have a western digital upgrade in my macbook very reliable worth the extra £10 or so for the brand
