I think they need a hard drive, not a hard drive enclosure :)
Plus they mentioned SATA too!

STOP! The BT Vision box contains an IDE drive not a SATA drive :thumbsup:

It's an IDE drive - but I'll take it off your hands for £10 and save you postage if I can collect it at the Safari Park ;-)

It depends what BT vision box you as to whether it is Sata or IDE. You'll find out when you open it either way.

Since when did they start using SATA drives? Even the new one I got (less than 2 months ago) has an IDE drive.

How would i know what type of drive it is, lmao. Im not the brightest of lads when it comes to hdd's

After putting in the model number it has found this

160GB Western Digital WD1600AVJB AV, IDE (PATA), 7200 rpm, 8MB Cache, 8.9 ms

That's an IDE drive. You also know by the connectors - the IDE ones have a large connector and a power connector (white plastic usually). The large conn connects to this kind of cable

j hyland, that ide/pata means its an ide drive (pata not sata) which is just the old connector, i need a sata one

looks like liddle old me will buy it tho if you want to sell, still tempting for me but ive got enuff ide drives already :D
