I am also after an Impreza as well, I came and see the Wrx Turbo last Saturday for £4500 but still not convinced as the owner stripped and clean the whole engine bay area, so can't check for any leakages, check on Autotrader, there is some non turbo, 04 reg on ward for around that price you asking. If you can find out, let me know as well..lol

Btw, have you consider a Turbo GTI Golf ? Mk4 Golf is about that price. I had one before, I loved it.

hiya i wouldn't waste my money on a non turbo scooby having owned a 353bhp one untill i blew the engine having a race on the motorway..... it was sooooooooooo quick i loved it.......
as for a golf id have the R32 only and thats out of the budget.......a mk4 turbo not my choice of cars...... i think its best to stick with jap on a under 5K budget for sheer fun.........good luck with your hunt........ if you like scary fun get a R1........

Nissan 350z?

You would be much better off looking on Piston Heads than asking via here - plenty of decent 250bhp + motors there at the price you are willing to pay.

Just about 'outgrown' my 220 odd horses, looking for something a bit more powerful but rather than getting a motor from the East I'll be going West and picking up a Mustang :-D

If you went over budget by £500 to £750 you could pick up an E36 model M3 - you may have to compromise on mileage but it's a cracking car and you don't see that many about (not here anyway!)

The RX7 is really low miles, unless its had a new engine and its the current engine mileage . . . yes, the twin turbo

Not mine m8, had a scan on autotrader, the links are on each for the dealer ad buddy (the word "this" hyperlinked i should say for each) . . .

E36 is models between 1992 and 1999 if I remember correctly. Expect to pay significantly more for a later model!

(I was going to suggest this site)

Or, depending on where you are in the UK, County Cars of Strood (Kent) often have a good selection of relatively cheap toys on offer.

I see at present they have a Toyota Celica 2.0 GT-4 Turbo 2 Door Coupe in Silver (70,000 miles) for a fiver under your limit: £2,995, and a Subaru Impreza 2.0 WRX 5 Door WAGON, also in Silver, (no mileage quoted) for £2,795.

[ I should never have got rid of my Subaru :( ]

Good luck!

(And don't forget the Auto Trader, and Exchange & Mart web sites)

Good point, I was thinking along the lines of something like this -

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/791513.htm

Looks better too IMO.

EDIT - yes it's over budget, my previous posts did say that you would need to pay more for a later model. Personally I'd pay a bit more and get an M3 over a Scooby/Evo but then they are completely different cars and there are bound to be just as many people who say go for the latter!

Thats nice.

For 3K you just about bag your self a decent E36 M3

http://pistonheads.com/sales/806802.htm

Also E36 M3 are very expensive to insure. And also make sure you can afford to run it because there are not cheap.

Are you still looking?

Was in Wigan Yamaha and saw a beautiful original Ducati 916. Looked in excellent condition and comes with plenty of history. I'd be tempted just to hang it on the living room wall.
