Does anyone have a couple of duel layer dvds they have spare? My son has been all over the town after some and all he got was "whats that". He just needs 2 as he needs to burn some drivers or something so he can install a new drive, so if anyones got a couple spare id be really grateful as hes already wasted tons of normal discs. Thanks

I had the same problem when I wanted a couple for my hackintosh project

Buying on the high street is so expensive for only a few

Try ebay item number 170483594284 - less than £3 for 5 delivered by first class post

going to be as quick as getting from here - this seller offers first class postage

nobody can get them out today now - so order tonight and they should be shipped tomorrow for delivery on thursday - RM dependant but that would effect all post !

Perhaps he should have asked for dual layer then. :w00t:

If he just wants to burn some drivers then I would have thought a CD would be more than ample.

Yeah, since when were drivers that big? :? I've got a folder full of drivers on my external hard drive that covers everything for both my desktop and laptop and it would fit on a CD (it's around 400mb). A single layer DVD is 4.7/4.36gb and a dual layer DVD is 8.5/7.93gb so how many drivers have you got to need that much space? And even then, why can't you just burn them to 4 single layer DVDs instead of 2 dual layer DVDs?

That said, if you're looking to buy some, there's nothing wrong with eBay. I get blank single and dual layer DVDs from there on a regular basis. Most people selling blank DVDs on there are businesses so they'll despatch every day and will probably give you a number of postage choices (first class, recorded, special delivery, etc.) so order tonight and you should get them on Thursday (try checking the seller's feedback to see if they have a good rep for getting things despatched quickly).

Yes or something to that effect.

There is not a hardware driver on Earth which needs DVD9, most drivers will even fit on an old floppy disk.

look i was only guessing he needed them for drivers, to be honest i havent a clue what he wanted them for but it was definately not games as he never plays them hes too busy programming

Does anybody have a clue as to what is needed here, 'cos I certainly don't.
I can't imagine everyone is saying "What's that" when your son asks for dual layer DVDs.

Does he himself know what he wants?

Why don't you put up on here what he wants to do, and then perhaps you will get some more meaningfull answers.
