Wanted! Advice & Possibly Pandora

Hi just bought a brand new PSP Slim & Light, for use primarily with PSN content (PSone games and the likes). I am however interested in maybe puting some custom firmware on it.

What are the potential problems with using a PSP with custom firmware with stuff on PSN? Does it cause any problems? Does the PS3 still recognise it correctly?

If it is possible to put custom firmware on it without causing PSN/PS3 problems, can someone tell me what methods are available to put custom firmware on it? I used to be up to date and have experience doing this stuff with a phat PSP, but its been a while since I looked into it. If my only option is a pandora battery, does anyone have the equipment I can borrow off them? I'll happily cover postage costs.

As much detail you can provide would be much appreciated.

my knowledge isnt vast lol. i have my own pandora, i custom mine, family and some members from hukd psp's. its very easy to do. My psp links to ps3 fine. i play mainly ps1 games on my psp as they look better than they do on my ps3. I believe the latest custom firmware still allows you to access the PSN store and download games.

If you just bought a "Brand New" Slim and lite, you better check the model number, it will be on your box, either a 2000 series or 3000 series, if it is the later then a Pandora battery wont help you anyway, your stuck on normal firmware.

Shanecr: Best to take down that link mate, they have ISO files there, so technically you are linking someone to warez bbe it unintentionally, anything he needs to know I and some others here can answer :p
If it is 2000 series or lower it will be able to run cfw (with the exception of a couple of motherboard revisions they did towards the end of the Slim & Lite's life, before releasing the Slijm & Brite).
If it is the newer type of mobo or the 3000 series then there is very little he can do for now, there are some custom made homebrews for the 3000 series, using the gripshift exploit, but that only works up to certain firmware revisions anyway.
As for PS3 connectivity, that should all be fine once you have cfw up and running.
