after buying a second hand processor amd
anything over 2ghz as my comp needs speeding up

Okay..

You need to know certain things before you go getting a new processor.

Athlon's have different types, just like all processors. Download a program called sisoft sandra, and find out everything about your processor and motherboard there. Then you can find out from that how fast a processor your motherboard supports.

I have an Athlon XP 2000+ here. It's a 32bit chip suitable for Socket A motherboards. £20? I'll take a photo if you like.

if its 939, I got an opteron 148, these things can overclock like crazy, I got this one to 2.8 with no sweat!

FAO dxx yeah could you take pic of the processor as i would be interested as i think it should run on my comp it is about 3 years old running a 1.2ghz at mo
