If this is for play of 2 xboxes in the same house on live together, you will either need a very special router or more than 1 static ips.

Else one will always have a strict nat and the other open, causes loads of problems...

Yeah the plan was to allow my 2 kids to have 1 in each of their bedrooms & use them independently. Will this not work then ?

Best way arround this is to get a router that allows it, unless you can get a block of static ip's from your internet provider...

You can use two or more at a time without problems. I have a normal router and have been doing it for ages.

Ahhhgg now I'm totally confused & don't know what to do. I suppose I could borrow another adapter from a m8 to try.

You can use them but 1 xbox will always have a strict nat or moderate connection as you can only open ports to the 1 ip address unless you have multiple static ip's frolm your ISPor a special router...

If 1 xbox has a strict connection and the other has an open connection it will manifest itself as: -

1. A terrible echo in the mic.
2. Not being able to join many games, especially in Halo 3.
3. Horrible lag that makes games just unplayable.

Yes, you can connect two xboxes to live on any router but to have them working as they should is quite another matter, this is well documented on the internet, google is your friend...

My old router and my new one must be special then as both my xbox 360's have worked fine. Never needed any tweeking to the settings either.
