Wanted: Board Games

I'm doing a club at school for board games. However, I have very few board games! Looking for games like chess, draughts, scrabble, etc.

If anyone has some they'd be willing to do for cheap (or free donation to the school) that'd be awesome. I'm in Coventry and would be perfect if I could collect if it's nearby - else we can discuss delivery costs.

Thanks,

AV

Hi-best would be freecycle-you would get all you need im sure?

Can your school not afford a small budget for this? If it's out of school hours have you tried for a small lottery grant?
#4
To be honest, my school is tight and haven't allowed any budget at all. It's in school hours, but out of my own pocket.

I tried freecycle to no luck :-(

libbitom, how much please?

Thanks guys.

How about contacting local stores. Woolies, argos, tesco, asda etc. etc. To see if they would consider donation? Would have to be done on headed paper from the school. Worth a try?!!

Best option - charity shops. You should be able to pick up the classic board games.

surely if you want cheap games as well you could go to a charity shop, sure the conditon might not be great but then you would be helping yourselg and then another chairty. you might have problems gettignt higns form tesco, cause im trying to arrangea charity thing and you cant get things donated at store level if it is a huge change its got to go to head quartes, you would be best with a local shop that sells games

i collected in town for charity once or twice-a letter from the school did it! you could collect whatever and have a raffle? it took me a couple of hours-Birthdays gave me soft toys-and the supermarkets gave me wine and chocs etc... it would raise enough surely to get the stuff from charity shops? i have had some new items from our local charity shop-games are usually 50p. Failing that dont the kids have games they can donate? i have always got spare but im nowhere near you...

I've asked the kids but the they're way too stingy!

I'll check out some charity shops but there aren't any local to me that I know of. I'll yellow page around though.

sicpuppy, how much for postage?

Thanks guys.
