No, but Sony will repair them free of charge IIRC.

YLOD light error can be fixed from as little as £35 ..... prices do vary anywhere between this and £75/£80 but with a little searching you should find a repairer locally that can do the repair for you for a reasonable price. I would say £50 for a PS3 with this error is a little cheap and I suspect the OP knows that already !!!

heres a vid on how to eject the game from the console with ylod. this worked for my cousin.

turn off power from switch
hold eject button down, then turn on the ps3 still holding eject. works for some not all.

go for it then !

Usually the repairers give 90 day warranty. Got to be worth around £130 after fees on a certian auction site so if you had it repaired for £40 say , thats £40 extra in your pocket , upto you , you could sell it for £50 and let the Op make the profit or take advantage of your generosity !!

I didn't make this thread to make a profit, I was just looking for a broken ps3. But thanks for hi jacking the thread.

Sure, But offering advise to the vulnerable isnt hijacking your thread its protecting those who need protecting from being taken advantage of ;)

I missed out on a ps3 with ylod error on ebay yesterday that sold for £55 so i thought offering £50 was fair and not taking advantage of someone, doesn't stop anyone who wants to sell one offering more than £50 on this thread. The advise you gave was fine and there are plenty of faq's around on this subject.

Sure thing , If you think its fair to offer £50 for a PS3 that you can either fix yourself for free perhaps or pay as little as £35 to get repaired and be as good as new then great - who are we to argue?.
Just as long as everyone that is considering selling to you for peanuts is educated in a sense that they understand that their ps3's can be fixed for as little as £35 and are, without doubt, worth considerably more.
This way , nobody is taking advantage of anyone are they.
Glad you agree that the advise I gave was fine now and that it wasn't a 'thread hi-jacking' as you previously stated ;)

Maybe you should make a thread with tutorials and advice for anyone with this problem, saves you from having to post multiple times saying the same stuff ;)
