After a cheap laptop not too bothered what operating system is it as long as the laptop works and has a serial port. I would like it cheap as possible. Ideally i would like a IBM but will consider anything and everything. Battery not holding charge is not a huge issue. Thanks

Umm good suggestion but I thought it maybe easier to get hold of a very cheap old laptop.

Thanks for the reply but it is way above my budget and would not be able to justify spending such amount. I want it to connect it to my car to run diagnostic software.

I have one similar to this:

http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/578942/fs-toshiba-satellite-4090cds-laptop

think the model number is a 4070 though not the 4090

£32 delivered - any good?

I have an IBM running XP but the battery is foobar, you can have the lappy for £20 then get yourself a battery off ebay later..
